Periodic Fever Syndrome

I’ve never heard of this but regardless, I exclude for symptoms, not the actual cause.

Like CH said- I would exclude based on symptoms. My first thought is how would I know the difference between a PFS fever and a fever from them being sick with something else?

It is so rare that I would still exclude. Most are accompanied by abdominal, chest and joint pain, and swelling that means the child feels bad enough to be home with their parent. Group care is well care.

Has anyone had a child with periodic fever syndrome? How was the diagnoses process with the pediatrician (I've read there really isn't a way to diagnose this?) and how did you handle exclusions regarding fevers?
