At this point, I have checked out and am in survival mode! Next week is my last week before summer break and I'm praying I will be done forever. I have to see how the summer goes with my side job. I'm over the 1 yr old and 2 yr old each pooping 3 times/day (I know it's part of the job, but I'm just over it). I'm over the 2 yr old hitting anyone who comes within reach and thowing every toy he can get his hands on ALL.DAY.LONG. He literally does not play, just walks around hitting and throwing toys until I remove him from the area. I'm over the 4 yr olds fighting about EVERYTHING! I'm over parents who push boundaries (my fault for not enforcing rules, but where's the respect?) I'm just over this job! Sometimes I think I should quit and start over with new families, but I fear it won't get any better. Parenting has changed and I don't think I'm cut out for dealing with these parents and the kids they are raising. Here's to a little TV time and a little longer quiet time for my sanity!!

Hoping your side hustle takes off! If I had a Plan B, this would be the time I would use it as you're right, parenting has changed and caring for kids all day is exhausting but having to care for parents as well is ALOT and I don't see parenting changing much towards the better end of the spectrum. Too many people are being told that zero responsibility is perfectly fine. There is no longer any shame or guilt in being a hands off parent and there is definitely no indication that responsible parenting is going to be a trend again.
Good luck and hoping your last week goes quickly!!

I'm looking forward to being able to say, "Next week is my last week." and am feeling a little envious. For your sake, I hope your side job is at least as successful as you need it to be. Good luck and hang in there - the light at the end of the tunnel is so close!

Poor diets. Even my best families eat oddly. Dinner is a weird series of snack type items. Some healthy, some not but nothing even remotely what I’d consider a complete meal. One DCM said they had grilled tomatoes and fresh mozzarella when they got home and before bed they had some type of meat board (no veggies). That’s is what I consider odd eating habits. *shrugs*

My 2 yr old who poops 3 times/day here, plus more at home, has the most disgusting diapers...smell and texture. He eats pop tarts or donuts for breakfast and lives on cheez-its. When I see social media posts, he always has snacks in his hands. DCM thinks he's hungry all the time, I think food has been used to keep him quiet. She commented one time that he was grumpy before bed and they had tacos for dinner, so he ate 3 tacos before bed. This was when he was around 20 months. They are teaching him bad habits at such a young age! So you can image how he is for me...walks into the kitchen crying all day long!

gumdrops: I am so happy for you that you are moving on. I know exactly how you feel. Sometimes I feel guilty for closing because I know I do a good job. Sometimes I worry where the kids will end up and if the quality will be comparable. But, bottomline, I am taking my life and my house back.
