I’ve almost always had school-aged kids. However, last spring, I had five 5-year-olds who would be starting kindergarten in the fall. I sent out a letter explaining that I would not have room for my incoming full-time kids plus school-aged kids, so I would no longer be accepting school-agers, as of the end of last summer. Everyone acknowledged the letter.
Two different parents of those now kindergarteners texted me the same weekend in February, asking if their kids would be able to come here this summer. 😑

Same reason they think when you send out a group text or newsletter addressing issues... it never applies to them and they can continue to break the rules.

It's an 'entitlement' generation. If THEY want it; then THEY expect it; and sadly, parents are teaching these kids this at an early age. My dcg10months (family) is an infant but she already KNOWS how to WORK it. Infant toddler specialist will tell us otherwise but I SEE it every day as do many of you, I'm sure!Last edited by Annalee; 05-26-2022, 05:41 AM.

Seems like they expect you to grow along with their children because of your relationship with them. Its as though you are a relative and not a business.

They know I'm an infant and toddler program and that their child would take up an entire spot. Guess that's one more thing I need to add to my handbook...
I wish I was being sarcastic but it seems very common these last few years as I've had similar conversations with parents about their SA kids that have aged out.
