Just realized that mothers day this upcoming weekend. I thought I still had like two weeks to go. Thankfully I have little wood box things from the doller store. Was going to use them last year but had no kids due to covid. Now it's good though cause you can't buy craft items right now due to our lockdown due to covid.

Trash along the road sides has been terrible this year in this area, too. I think part of the problem are the high winds we've been experiencing for the past year or so. I've been finding all kinds of trash in my yard that isn't ours, including an oversized playground ball that the kids are enjoying because we couldn't locate the owner. A couple of weeks ago, I had to go on a search of the neighborhood to find the contents of our large recycling barrel. The wind knocked it over before it could be picked up and our trash ended up all over the field next door and further on down the road.

Yes winds, I lost a few things from the winds. One year I knocked on the neighbor's door and they were so rude to me when I asked if they saw any of my items. We found them all later that day but come on, there was no need to be rude.

I am so glad that we fenced the playground now. Things still can get out but not as much as they use to.

Littering is one of my biggest pet peeves too! It's just not that difficult to find a trash can instead of tossing stuff onto the roads and ditches.

Anyone remember the commercial on TV with the Native American guy and some people threw trash at his feet and then the camera shows him with a tear rolling down his face?
That commercial always stuck in my mind and I never ever littered, even a kid because of how that commercial stuck with me.
      Keep America Beautiful.

Funny story but years later I learned the guy wasn't really even a Native American but played one on the commercial and I felt kind of bamboozled. LOL! But I still never littered.

Okay so there's always that one thing that bugs you most. So my most annoying thing that I find littered is chewed gum.

        Yes, that is gross!
I don't know if it's just my area or everywhere but I find the most littered item(s) along our roads and ditches are McDonald's bags and food wrappers.
I rarely see Burger King or Taco Johns/Taco Bell bags but the McDonald bags are literally EVERYWHERE!

I think mcD is the most common here too but then again our bk just opened again and our TB is not very popular. Although Arby's has been here for ever just like mc D and I never see them littered

We are doing a theme that dcb is an 'expert' in. But....he's wrong and seriously frustrating when he argues his point. Assistant wrote him a sheet and then looked it up with him, like a fact checker and it's not workkkinnnggggg. I sound so petty all day "No Buddy you're mistaken."

So I am not sure if I should feel upset or happy about this. I was just informed by DCM that my most annoying, fight starting, continuously talking DCB will be attending summer preschool on the days that he attends dc (starting in 2 weeks). Gma will be bringing him here at nap time on those days. Currently, he attends preschool on the days he goes to Gma's house, so it has not interfered with the schedule.

I do find it odd that there is summer preschool.

I am currently thinking that a little chaos in the afternoon may be worth not dealing with his annoyingness in the morning. It could be a good trade-off.

(Now I feel bad, knowing that I will not miss him.)

You will get annoyed by the nap time interruption. When I first opened, I had a child from 1:30-4:30 a couple days a week. Then mom started showing up at 1:20, then 1:05 🙃 I would get so annoyed because 1) she was way too early 2) I had a little one ready to run around rather than play quietly while the others were napping.

Since then, I’ve also implemented a new policy that all children must arrive by 10:00 AM because I had a parent (not working) let the baby sleep until 11 or so, then drop off at 12:30. Obviously, the baby was no where near ready to nap, so I never got a break.

We work 10-12 hours/day. Don’t bend over backwards and don’t sacrifice your “break”

Thanks guys. I know that most like the full time with no interruptions but I rather have pt and currently have three kids one day a week.(two of the three come at 11) Last year I had two foster boys leaving during nap then returning later and another child being picked up at the end of nap.

So I am not worried about naptime as much as I am worried that he won't be fed lunch before he is dropped off. I'll delay naptime by 15 minutes if I need to. I'll make it work for my own sanity or I will work harder at replacement.

Bummer, Dcm talked to me about preschool yesterday and it is only for two weeks. Then dcb will be full days again. Ugh I was looking forward to not missing him.

Around 10:00 AM today, my phone started ringing. I normally don’t take calls/respond to texts until the kids are napping, but I saw it was a parent so I answered. She called to tell me that DCB has his 2 year well check NEXT Thursday (he doesn’t attend Thursday’s) so he may be a little groggy on Friday when he attends. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Would anyone else be annoyed with the fact that she called to tell me that instead of texting??? LOL I simply said “Okay, he can attend Friday so long as he’s not running a fever.” 🙃

I explain my reasons to them (fear of reaction/seizures etc) and just say it's not negotiable. I understand your husbands point of view but I am not dictating when they can/cant have their child see the doctor, I am simply stating what I am and am not willing to provide and I am not willing to provide services to children with 48 hours of immunizations. Your husband needs to change his mindset...lol! Just like not providing services on Saturdays or Sundays is not dictating a parent's work schedule.
I allow one drop off and one pick up PER family so it's the family that needs to adjust their schedule to accommodate their needs. I had small children of my own a while back and I did what I needed to do to have their needs met and didn't expect the school or my child care provider to adjust their schedules so mine worked out know what I mean?
I provide a service and am clear about the days/times. Parents need to decide if what I offer works for them. If not, it's their issue to solve not mine. :-)

I had a nurse DCD try to drop off after the doctor's visit and vaccination. Unlike DCM, he was honest about the vaccine and I said no he can't stay, per BC advice. DCM would not say anything and I would find bandaids on the leg at diaper change.

That makes complete sense now Blackcat. I’ll have to word it to my husband like that 😂 I personally don’t like dealing with grumpy children after vaccinations & I know the other kids don’t want to hear it either.

Offered an infant spot to family, a cousin who had a baby in March. My cousin works for my husband. My husband is letting cousin work wherever, home not at home in person. It's all annoying to me. My cousin isn't sealing the deal with me on days baby will come because my husband is letting him do whatever. There are families out there that really need daycare. I am over it and calling cousin tonight, giving until Monday for an answer. I really just want to tell them NO now. They don't understand that people reserve daycare spots months in advance. Ugh

I feel for you. I cared for a family members child for a short time and it was a nightmare. They didn't think my rules or policies applied to them. Our relationship with the parents suffered for a long time and I never looked at them the same. I will NEVER care for family again.

I care for a close family friend. At first, they did drop in care for a day rate with a 24 hour notice. That turned into 10 PM text messages the night before. After a couple times of that, they were told I had a full time spot available, take it or leave it. At first they pushed back, I remained firm & they are now full time. I expect him here daily, I’m making more money, and I don’t get the late night messages.

That being said, I absolutely won’t even chance doing business with family.

So I share a driveway with my sister. Our parents paved their/her half (front part) 15 years ago when we did our half. This year I noticed that all the extra deliveries has really taken a toll on the driveway, so I got a quote. I also quoted to lengthen the driveway for more parking for us. Our addition was done in asphalt while our driveway was repaired as a chip seal. I had the quote split for my sister half and my half. After discussing it with DH we decided to go ahead and pay all of it our self. I informed my sister that we were having it done. She is complaining to me about the cost, why I had it done and what it looks like now it is done. She paid nothing for it, When I told her the date, she asked the cost and said she could not afford it.

I also pay for a snow plow for a year. I scrambled the first year I was open to find someone to plow (I had a few leads, with one company refusing to quote). I had him quote the driveway and my parking spot only, not her parking spot. My sister keeps complaining that they do not plow on the weekends, they don't do the end of the driveway where we put the trash cans and that she wants her parking spot plowed. She wants me to find a different plow company. She feels that this company over charges and does not do what other plow companies do. Her only other experience is one time plow guys that she calls when she can not get out of the driveway.

My internet has been spotty this morning, but finally working! Dcm of dcb2 came in today and tells me the 'bottle' is gone effective this morning; well, I reply with 'he hasn't had a bottle in months and I figured he wasn't getting it at home either"'; she about flipped out; said he screams for it at home

I just LOVE how parents don’t parent anymore 🤗 I have a 20 month old here, child hasn’t had a pacifier since he turned 15 months old... comes in one more with it and DCM says “I gave it to him so I could have a peaceful drive into town” WHAT?!? I don’t get it! LOL

Another DCM came in with her 2 year old one morning last week. He had gummy bears for breakfast because “he was crying for them.” But don’t worry, she said they were sugar free 😂🙄🙃

Why is it when a group of teenagers get in trouble for something that the ones in public school take all the blame.....not fair......with the internet, ANYthing is possible with ANY kid! Not about my kid but about some friends of my son's. Just because you are home-schooled doesn't mean you can't be exposed to things; you just might be exposed in a different way and YOU can still be the instigator!

Funny you posted this. Dcg almost 4.5 just peed in her panties as she got on the toilet. I told her to go before nap but she refused. So she had to pee suddenly while napping and didn't quite make it in time. She cried like she was hurt.

Yes. I always toss poopy underwear. If it’s just a stain from not wiping properly I’ll put it in a bag and send it home but actual accidents in the underwear go straight to the trash bin.

Our licensing rules say that we can't dump cloth diapers. I'm going to guess that goes for underwear too. So if they want them back they get all of it.

Dcb, almost 5, went completely berserk when his mom came in today. He does that every so often, and I remind him the next morning that it’s unacceptable. He does great for awhile, then does it again. I’m trying to think of a SUPER fun activity for tomorrow morning, and only the children who acted appropriately at pickup today will be invited to participate. 😏
