What are everyone’s resolutions this year ? Both personal and professional ? My #1 is to leave my job. Very toxic. I love the work, but not the environment. Personal, to keep up on housework. I had a cleaning service a few times last year, so I’d like to keep my home the way they leave it. Also, eating healthy, including REMEMBERING MY VITAMINS ! I need to keep the bones healthy.

Mine is to try to stay on a routine that is better for my health. I tend to be selfishly spontaneous. That usually will disrupt a positive spurt of eating well and exercising everyday. Long term positive adjustment gets the best results. Having taco Tuesday with margaritas every Tuesday doesn’t help with that resolution.

I am working on figuring out what I want to do for the next 20 years since my original plan and 30 years of effort no longer meet my needs or my reality.
I am great at what I have to do but have now realized I can drop the rest and nothing would change.
What motivates me to get out of bed when I don't have to, anymore? I can't remember.
That is what I want to find out this year.

As I've said a million times before....we live parallel lives with similar mindsets. I was "saved" from this situation by a grandbaby. She seems to fill every second of quiet and I am loving every second of it! Hoping you find something worthwhile, meaningful and SELFISH to fill your quiet. <3 <3

BC, my great-nieces/soon to be born great-nephews fill my time as well, not a grandbaby yet but these will do....so proud of my nephs/nieces as they have survived their parents issues from when they were small so life doesn't have to define you, there is a way to move on; but I've also gained some friends though my workout group which I do enjoy! CH, I totally understand the 'waiting for the bomb to hit/rescue of those around me particularly my own two sons' but so far so good with that....not completely over my worry but it is OK for the moment.
Currently , I'm in the enjoy my quiet time and don't feel the need yet to ' occupy all of my time with something'. I enjoy total quiet, a lifetime movie, some good Law & Order, some REBA, etc. and just some plain ole 'quiet & coffee' at times...... I see myself staying in child care for a while with my great-nieces/nephs in tow then moving on to my grandkids, I assume. So I'm hanging in for the time-being.
I look up to you two especially and all my peers on this forum.....couldn't survive without Y'ALL!Last edited by Annalee; 01-02-2023, 08:37 AM.

Very similar to the other posts.....I want to continue my mental/physical health regimen (working out, eating better, staying clear of things that irritate me, try to not allow my ability to 'know/sense' so much to cloud my mind,......and to stay on the path that "I can't do EVERYTHING so let some things go after I've give 100%", etc etc etc etc) BEST WISHES to everyone with their goals, resolutions!

I try not to make actual New Year's resolutions as I am one of those people that every time I draw a line or give myself a deadline, I subconsciously self-sabotage.
Over the years, I've learned to recognize that I am best to simply work towards certain goals on an on-going basis and not label them resolutions or vows or even commitments. Instead I am constantly working towards better.
Better in every aspect of my life. But aren't we all?
My current focus is de-cluttering my life.
When my FIL passed I learned the true value of organization and have been trying to be better at decluttering my home, my work and most of all my life.
I am always a work in progress.

As for resolutions.....I also want to work on 'when I leave the daycare room, to leave it alone till the next day within my thoughts as well'....not that I do NOT care, but daycare takes way too much of my time and when I look at other daycares with providers who have been in business as long as I and I see how they NEVER attended anything, or worried about QRIS, or whatever BUT they still provided GOOD or possibly even bad CARE and are STILL in business and probably worried MUCH LESS than I did......I want to be involved and in-tune with my business but do so mildly choosing carefully what I choose to be involved in.....
