Michael, When posting or messaging a longer message, I find the message box to be to small on mobile at least, to reread and edit. On the old forum there was a way for me to adjust the size of that box. Can we get the same option here?

I understand what you are asking. I’ll see if there is an option for that.

I just adjust my phone settings to make text/print larger but the text box on mobile versions expands as you type so you just need to scroll to re-read or edit before posting. For me, if it were any larger, it wouldn't fit on my screen and I would have to move the screen around to view the whole thing. I think it would be harder for to read/edit if it were any larger.. hmm, I wonder if it appears differently on different phones?

Each skin has a different forum page layout. The fonts are different. Try each one and see which one looks/works best.

This is as big as I can get it. I can not get the box to expand. (Android, chorme)

That’s how big it appears on my phone too but as soon as I click into the box to start typing it gets a lot bigger which in my experience most discussion boards do not so I thought it was an improvement compared to other boards … lol!
this is how big it looks as I type

A little tidbit from a member asking why they can't set ascending and descending channels/threads here.

There is a function that will automatically take you to the last post. It is a little blue box with two >> at the right side of each channel. Click on that and it take you to the last post. I put a screen shot here for you to see. Its in the red box highlighted.

Also, if you want to quickly get to the top of the page, there is a link on the very bottom left of the footer that reads GO TO TOP

Here's the crazy thing about this. You CAN enlarge the box on your desktop by grabbing and dragging it down with my mouse but I can't seem to pull the bottom of the box on my iPhone with my finger.

I tried that and I have not been able to use it either.

I am trying to see what suits everyone with the style of the forum. Switch to the STRIPES skin and see it you like it full screen. Desktop users may prefer this. I do not believe it changes the smartphone look.

The only thing I’m doing with the Stripes skin compared to the others is that I’m making stripes full screen for desktops. I’m trying to figure out whether I should make all the skins full screen.

You may have noticed I added some of the smileys from the old forum that you can use in your posts. Let me know if there is anything else I can add or change.

Out of curiosity can unregistered posters post on this board too or is registration required in order to post or read?

unregistered can post just like the old one but they don't have as many privileges as members and definitely can't get into the sensitive channels. I'm headed to Florida for two weeks but will be here every day. You can as Admin make changes to anything if need be.

I’ve noticed that comments to a post/reply don’t “register” or alert as new unread content. “Post Reply” and “Quote” replies trigger an update, but not comments within/to a specific reply. I missed a comment on one of my posts (and others, as I subsequently learned) because it didn’t show as a more recent comment than the original one…if you can follow my explanation here. Is there a way to be sure we are made aware when comments to posts are made? Not just our own, but on threads in general.

Ok, so it’s not “notifications”. It’s that the list on the main page does not flag when comments are added under posts. It alerts for new “post reply” or “quote reply” but not for comments. So when I go to the list of posts/threads, I see that the last new thing under this thread was my comment, sent at 5:01 PM on May 22. But clearly, since then, Michael has replied as have you and I. I see a tab for “Latest Activity” that I admittedly have not checked out! My bad, as the cool kids say. I will go poke around there. Maybe that’s what I’m doing wrong.

Ok so I checked out “latest activity,” and I don’t see new comments registered there either. Fresh replies and quote replies definitely are.

If I pick a specific “topic” (thread), and then click latest activity, it does seem to be easier to FIND new comments! There just doesn’t seem to be an automatic update to the main list to show that a comment was added, or I’m still doing something wrong which is prob more likely….

Alwaysgreener’s comment to my previous post prompted me to check my user settings. I do have notifications turned on (but that’s different than my current question)…which leads me to this new question: I chose to get notifications through “my Message Center”. Where is the Message Center?

I tried changing a few options in the admin section. I’m not sure if they will help. I would like a place to see ALL the new comments and channels in a one stop place like the old forum had with New Posts.

Ahhh! Found it! My notification “inbox” was empty though, and I’ve had alerts set up since I registered.
