I'm doing nothing! My group is too young and I'm not wasting time and money to give something I made just for show

I sent home half yesterday, no response as usual. The other half goes home today. Boxes checked, though.

We're doing hard sided can/bottle coozies as our grand finally gift with a homemade popsicle card that says "Stay Cool".

Otherwise we gave lip balm "Dad you're the balm", and little tins of popcorn with a card that says #1 Pop.

Wow. Sounds like you must have some great dad's in your current group to be that motivated. It really does make a difference doesn't it?

I am so very lucky. We have our days, but they really appreciate what I do.

BC, I have not ordered from Oriental trading in forever, but YOU, yes YOU have sparked my interest and just ordered for each month as well.....to be truthful, I could have saved money by ordering this way but in the past, I didn't seem to have the funds to do so and dealt form month to month but am much better now.

Question: have you ever completed the letter crafts...they have 26 uppercase and 26 lower case with 12 crafts for each letter for $229. That's not a bad deal and cheaper than any curriculum....just wondering as they are paper crafts but they had good reviews.

I have completed the letter crafts. I have them do one letter each week, upper and lower, to go home on Friday. On Friday I have them bring something for show and tell beginning with the letter. You will have to specify size and no food to the parents or they tend to get out of hand.

I have also used these alphabet sets at $26 per and the kids loved them. I had a couple letters that were missing items, so be sure to order in advance and go through them early enough to contact customer service for replacements. https://www.crafts-4-kids.com/shop/alphabet

We did a popcorn bucket with caramel popcorn, a bag of microwave popcorn, and a footprint card. Seemed to be a hit! The kids put the baskets together themselves so they were proud of them and excited to give them to dads/grandpas. We splurged a bit this year but I'm close with all but 1 of my families this year so I justify it that way 😉

I did something pretty elaborate, and out of all my families, I only got one thank you I will be doing something more basic and cheaper next year.

Yay! Mine arrived, too. First I break them up into groups of 6 in labeled Ziplocs because their printing is too small. Then I put them in shoebox bins, upright, in order of the months (they way I will use them. The second set of 6 goes into the filing cabinet for 4 years from now or are donated to a local church or shelter. (I don't want to do repeats and only keep 6 kids)

Sparkles I went all out for my moms at Mother’s Day. Lots of tears and thank you TEXTS. I asked my husband what I should do for Father’s Day & he said that the day doesn’t matter to most Father’s like it does to mothers - who usually feel more under appreciated than dads.

So I spent $3 & used what I had on hand. I got 1 thank you - only because the dad was standing there when his kids handed it to him. Not a single thank you text.

I will have 11 kids from 'almost 2' -5 this go-around so I'm excited. Even the two's can glue and it's about the process, right? Hoping for a good preschool year! I begin Sept 7....closing Sept 1-6.

I am going in the opposite route this year. All will 2 and under. Glue sticks for the win. I bought mostly photo and handprint crafts just for this age group.

CH, from my waiting list I plan to enroll ages 1-2 if I get any opening, but with this free daycare, probably want lose anyone this school year. I plan to interview a couple families in the next few weeks as this pay is scheduled to end Aug 31 but it's been scheduled to end four times since April 2020 so????

That is just crazy to me, I'd have a hard time not resenting it. We got a couple one time grants (cleaning supplies, fresh veggie supplements) and a lot of requests for "extra" from us, even asked us to donate money.... lol! .. but nothing for parents. I will still have my SA redshirter, but he has his own classroom setup & routine and is more like family here than a DC kid. That family has been here for over 10 years, spacing their kids out. I keep forgetting to count him in to my "group" as he is his own group, has more freedom and blends in to our daily life. The rest are 2 and under.

My state entities really feel this pay will remain in place indefinitely and lead to universal child care??? I'm anxious to see how it plays out. ??

Personally, I think it would go to better use paying people to use birth control.
