The thing is that I'm not a threat. He cries to come to my house at night. He says that "She will feed me and I go nigh night there."

He doesn't have a punishment at home. There aren't rules. He knows if he breaks the rules at my house that it's not ok. At his house life just goes on and nothing happens.

Once he was at home and was scared of monsters. He wanted to come to my house. His Dad literally said, "I'm here." He said "No!! TwinMama protect me! Not you!"

TwinMama REALLY?! 😳 that’s pathetic & sad. I would want my children to feel safe at my providers home, not threatened.

Oh yeh. This one completely runs the show. The parents have no authority whatsoever. They tell the two year old that they'll tell me on him and get him in trouble. They pick up the phone to pretend to call me. It's so pathetic.

    I love the fee 😂

Parents get a 30 min to 1 hour break at work & a 9-10 hour break from their kids. Do they think we don’t deserve this “break” too?!

Those moms drive me insane! 9x out of 10, the child is the one running the show, not the parent. Most of my DCK nap for 2 1/2-3 hours depending on what we did that morning. Nap time is 12-2:30/3 each day, I will not budge on that time either. If a child over the age of 2 is still napping at 3, I will wake them.

I once had a Foster Mom (who had no bio children of her own) who didn’t want her 9 month old foster child to nap for more than 2 1/2 hours because he wouldn’t sleep well at night
You know, because it had nothing to do with the fact he’s adjusting to his new foster family at all 🙄 Whether he napped for 3 hours or 5 hours, she was told that I woke him up at 2 1/2. What do ya know, he magically slept all night when I began telling her what she wanted to hear 🙃 I was always told never to wake a sleeping INFANT, so I refuse.

I also won’t understand why a parent even considers getting up in the middle of the night with their children. After my girls were 15 months old, they were on their own at night (still in a crib) unless it was a bad dream scream/something else that didn’t sound normal. If my child wanted to get up in the middle of the night and sit in their crib, so be it! Momma was getting beauty rest LOL

I always tell them that they need to plan an hour of physical activity after dinner to burn those calories at night if they want them to sleep well. They need nap here because I plan at least two hours of it in the morning. "If they have outgrown nap, they have outgrown my program. Please let me know when their last day will be so that I can inform the next family from the waitlist."

I approach this issue differently but one of the suggestions offered regularly on the board is to simply agree with mom (still nap the child on your watch) and tell her he didn't nap.
When she still has the same bedtime issues, she see it wasn't the napping that was causing it.

I won't even entertain the option of not participating in nap and ask the parent's if they are submitting their notice of withdrawal when they ask me to skip nap time.
I've also taken the nap fee idea from NannyDe and told parents that I will let their child skip nap if they pay a $300 per week no-nap fee. This fee covers the cost of hiring someone to supervise their child while the others nap. If that doesn't work, parents are fee to pick up their child prior to nap time otherwise they must nap like the other kids.

    Another Nap Blamer

I've got a Mom that thinks she needs to take away her 2 year olds nap because he keeps getting out of bed at night and says he's not tired.

How do I nicely say that it's not the nap, it's that he doesn't listen to her and he does what he wants. He's two!!!
Working...
