    What crazy weather everyone is having! My state just had it's first ever December tornado. Thankfully it was in the southern part of the state and not where I live at all....we had rain and temps in the 40ies all day yesterday and then overnight it snowed and the temps dropped to at or below 0 and the snow is drifting and blowing all over. Of course because it rained first, there is a sheet of ice under all the snow which makes driving near impossible. I don't really mind the winter weather, even at it's worst but I do mind the fact that parents will use it as an excuse for literally EVERYTHING. Hoping everyone is safe no matter what type of weather you have going on in your area!

      I heard MN may have had its first ever December tornado. That was this morning so I’m not sure if it has since changed or not. Stay safe

    My HS Senior Son text a little while ago saying he forgot his 'shop' teacher was grilling for them at lunch today and he needed burgers from the meat shop, cheese, ketchup and buns. I asked how many burgers because I wasn't buying the class burgers from the meat shop as they are delicious but expensive. His friend forgot, too, so he needed four burgers. DH is off today so he has delivered the goods to school....Gotta love your kids!

        Annalee I have been considering that with my next crew of people in a few years. Only one of my 5:15 pick ups truly works that late.

        Cat Herder same here! I’ll have centers open but otherwise I’m not doing anything. I had planned a Christmas party for Thursday - usually a special treat with music and glow sticks LOL - but I don’t know that I’ll even do that if I only have one kiddo.

      3 day week. Full crew plus DD and SA for two day then one less on Wednesday.

      My 7am messaged at 715 that he would be late.

          I am closed today and told everyone that I would see them next week. It is in the newsletter and on my website that I am closed today and Monday. (Plus everything in-between.)

          My DD is sick today, so there is no way I could open anyways.

          There is always a First time for everything, a family showed up to drop off this morning.

          I hope they learn to read the newsletter.

            Oh, no. I am closed today, too. My usual opening time is in 10 minutes, so I guess we shall see.

            I am wrapping up emails, paying bills, recording "other hours", and checking out new perfumes online (they discontinued mine, ugh) while my husband gets a shower and shaves. He wants to go Christmas shopping, I'd rather Rudolf kicked me in the teeth. But what can you do when you marry an jolly elf type? Ho-Ho-Hum-Bug, there goes my bank account.

            I am pretty excited that the kids managed to free up some time on Saturday afternoon, originally they could not come due to work/family schedules (they were here Christmas Day last year, blended family tradition). So, we changed the Christmas day menu to grilled steaks, gulf shrimp and baked potatos. The "kids" (24F, 22M, 22M) will have fun roasting marshmallows on the new fire pit and tossing horseshoes while DH grills. They can only be here for the afternoon, no one is staying overnight this year, but they should have more time off after the 1st of the year.

              Up and in the daycare room getting all the things that need washed and cleaned. Only allowing myself two days while I'm off to work daycare things. I can do my paperwork late at night as my best thinking is during that time or when I'm in the shower

                I am open today... last day for 2021! It's PJ day though so it will be fun! We have "breakfast" planned for lunch as that is the one thing I know all the kiddos will eat so they'll have a good layer in their bellies before I sugar them up and send them home tired and over stimulated from the busy day! Merry Christmas Daycare parents...lol! <insert evil laugh>

                My pregnant DD and her bonus son are driving over today (an hour away) so her bonus son can have some fun with the kiddos here. He is 3 and doesn't go to any kind of daycare or kid play group and spends most his time with adults so this will be fun for him. My DD and her significant other won't have him over Christmas as it's his mom's turn this year so it will be nice to see him today.

                DH and I will spend Christmas Eve being lazy and alone . My DD, her sig other and my DS will all drive over for Christmas Day. Dinner will be smoked ham, jersey sweet potatoes, corn, rolls and cauliflower/broccoli salad. Pumpkin pie as well... DH was so excited to grow pumpkins and make his own pies! We will eat dinner and then settle in with some pie and egg nog while opening gifts. Since everyone is older, there will be no over the top exciting surprises unless new Pyrex bowls are something to be overjoyed about! lol! My kids get practical gifts at this age.

                Me? I got my Ms Pac-Man game!! I've probably logged about 3-4 hours already but who's counting?

                  One more thing, happy to see your dd's bonus child coming over to have fun....I think the reason some our daycare kids have trouble with socializing/behaviors/etc. is because blended families don't blend well and blending is the norm nowadays...Blending and making it work takes much effort.....I remember my mom buying new stockings every year at christmas because my cousin would come with a different sig other and another set of kids but mom even began buying extra gifts for multiple age as she didn't want any child to NOT have a gift. This cousin has passed away now but he was so appreciative and always noticed what mom did for him. Again, that takes effort and I've read many stories of this on this forum and it makes me happy when I see stories like this. Makes me miss my dad as he had a genuine love for everyone...mom carries it on, but they were doubly genuine-loving when he was here.

                  Blackcat31 - Bonus child, I have never heard that terminology. I like it. - Congrats on the Pacman.

                  Annalee - My mom does something similar, she always has a gift ready for the extra child that comes, including when we got foster kids the day before Christmas. She even sends birthday cards to my nephew's most current girlfriend's kids. Her step grandkids are her grandkids for life, even when the marriage did not last. === Now my MIl is the total opposite.

                First actual day of vacation. Feet are up, coffee is hot and it is snowing like crazy… 6” so far and 7-8” more throughout the day is forecasted.

                  That is crazy!! It is almost hot, here, for no reason at all. My fed ex guy was in shorts, today.

                  I am back at work full-time this week. Next day off is January 17th and I have to get my eyes dilated. Bleck.... I hate the way that feels.

                    We woke up to snow this morning after having a green Christmas.

                    My kids and I have been sick since the 23rd. I am having to close tommorow to recover.

                      We've been getting a mix of rain and freezing rain and ice - Christmas Eve through Christmas Night and again tonight into tomorrow morning.

                        DCB+g arrived today, Dcg commented that my door was locked the other day when they tried to come. DCB says dcd was MAD at me.

                        Lol I let DCB know that I told his parents that I was going to be closed last January and sent a reminder every month in the newsletter.
