    Good Bye

    • It’s sunny and 61° here today!

It was too nice not to get out so we rushed through circle time and headed out for a walk. When we got back, the kids wanted to go outback to the playground - so we did! I have a cute little craft planned for St. Patrick’s Day tomorrow and I’m regretting it. It’s going to be 70° and sunny!

I can’t help but wonder - does anyone else get sick of preschool/circle time when Spring comes? I’m ready to restructure my whole program

It is about 60 here today, if it wasn't for the baby, we would have spent most of the morning outside. Tommorow no baby and hopefully it will be warm again.

I begin and end my preschool year on the same day as the public schools. For the same reason.

Alwaysgreener I hope you can get out this afternoon!

Cat Herder I started pre-k in mid-late September with the intention of being done in late May. But I’m thinking we’ll be done around the beginning of May with it warming up much sooner than it did last year. I believe we had snow on April 1st here.

    • March Madness College Basketball at it's BEST! Dad's been gone 20 years but I still feel the need to watch and feels like he's here.....A number one seed goes down today. Love the excitement and watching men/women play to win for another day because if you lose, you go home! LOVE IT! Only thing better is College Football!

      • Today is DCB bday, he brought a large container of two bite brownies from Sam's club for bday treat. This is only the second time I have gotten a child bring a treat, the last time dcm asked permission. I think I need to have a policy on bday treats, so I am not surprised with a treat and they bring something everyone can have.

Didn't the DCP ask ahead of time? If not, that is weird because you'd think most parents would ask because schools have rules about what kids can bring. I do have kids bring treats but all my parents ask what is/isn't allowed, if there are any allergies and how many should they bring.

The only rule I have is no cupcakes. I hate cupcakes! Well, I love cup cakes but not as birthday treats for a group of kids under 5yrs old..... they just make a mess...
They either eat the frosting and dismantle the cake or they take a bite of cake and leave frosting smeared all over... so no cupcakes! lol!

No they didn't ask. I was surprised this morning with about 100 2-bite brownies for seven kids. I am debating on letting bday boy to have as many as he wants just before he goes home. Lol

I think I'm going to go into the school website and grab the local school birthday treat policy just so that it mirrors what is expected of them in school.

Eating as many birthday treats as you want as the birthday kid should be a rule! LOL! I would be super tempted to do the same and send him home loaded up on brownies! haha!

It's moving slower so it will be a while now before it gets to me!

        • My last to leave kid was absent today, so I was done an hour early and I am done for the week. Doctor appt in the morning, packing for spring break trip in the afternoon.

Before we go I have to get my new laptop ready to send in to repair the mouse. Unfortunately, as I was transferring files out, my mouse got stuck and deleted a bunch of files instead of transferring them. So now I have been running a recovery program to see what I can salvage.

          • Flew home from a knife show near Houston. Had a blast. At one point a trebuchet might have been involved. My final “only in Texas” moment was my 3am rideshare to the airport. Early 20’s kid in a Stetson hat with a modded out Toyota complete with LED headliner blasting Colt Ford the whole way to the airport. Sometimes this crazy idea of being a full time Bladesmith is an absolute riot

Same. We bought the adjoining empty lot for $9,000 cash a couple years ago. They are saying it is worth $39,000. They also appraised our house at over twice it's value. If we could find something we could afford to live in, we'd sell. But there is the catch, the increase is not real. This bubble is going to burst, hard.

I feel your pain! I usually either owe little to nothing or get a refund. This year....ouch! Grant money had a lot to do with it. "The government giveth and the government taketh away!"

            • I'm posting this in the morning chat as I am refusing to let anyone or anything irritate me; but this morning's happenings is a case in point for the non-feeling or ANYTHING among certain people. We had bad storms last night...trees fell on cars, many still without power, trees down; me personally, my playground is destructed, my sign is broken, tree down in my yard.........dcm come across the porch laughing at how scared people were over the storms last night....to which I could NOT be quiet and I said "I do NOT find that funny; if it had been daylight when I opened so that I could have assessed the damage, I would Have closed".....dcm said Oh, I'm sorry but it was the Oh, I'm sorry that she says about everything. some schools are closed while some delayed two hours before making a permanent decision?

On a good note, I didn't hear of any injured but I'm not positive about that....my son just called and my large piece I place my sign on seems unbroken; just got to put my sign back on it. It is broken around the corners where it was nailed to the piece. Maybe could put nails toward the middle and keep it a while till I can have another made???

Anyway, just some chit-chat this morning! Have a good day!

              • Oh WOW, my accountant told me she prepared my taxes where what I owed would automatically draft out today so I'm thinking overnight as it is through checking and not a debit card....but BOOM gone immediately this morning......four-digit pay-in for me.....Not used to that....

                  • I will only have four kids today and it’s not because anyone is sick.

I am looking forward to a very easy day/week!

                    • Started 2 new kiddos today. Around the same age but worlds apart. Oddly the younger one is lightyears more mature than the older one. DCM's are co-workers and claim the kiddos are BFF's but within 5 minutes of being here, one of them migrated to the big kid room and the other is happily playing in the little's room. Fine with me, as I was a bit apprehensive about taking on two kids who were so close but not siblings. We'll see how the rest of the week goes.
