Planning to continue my 'path to de-clutter' my daycare this weekend.....too much stuff.....have downsized many times since January and I take something out daily per my 'inner mindset' and STILL too much stuff.....but I WILL GET THERE!
"Is there anyone going to ____ daycare who could maybe meet me or me to drive my child to you at 6 am to ride to daycare? They don’t open in time for me to be to work."
This whole week has been a bit chaotic.... kids acting "off" but not excludable, Spring and Winter fighting over who's turn it is, parents that seem to have forgotten they are parents, rude neighbors and just an over all cranky pants atmosphere... Never thought I'd make it to Friday with any sanity left but yet here it is! FRIDAY!!
Best part of the day? My toughest child is off on Fridays, my most "annoying" child is home with dad, my overbearing, by the book, text all day/night DCM decided to send her kid to grandparents for the day and one by one at drop off this morning 3 parents told me they'll be picking up right after lunch today!! It will leave me with 3 kids until closing but I don't mind as they are favorite kids and none of them wear diapers! So it's all good!
Happy Friday everyone!!!
I get to see my grandbaby tomorrow and I can NOT wait!!
So true! My father was second to the youngest of 16 kids. As his brothers and sisters aged, he was left in the position of having to make life changing decisions for several of them. After watching what he went through, I promised myself and my kids I would do what I could not to put them through the same hell. My biggest worry is that by the time I reach that point, I'll have forgotten what the plan was, where the line was set and that I agreed to it! Good luck with those "balloons".
Thank you, guys. Two are down, one to go. One fell down unexpectedly, and hard. I am so tired. Physically, emotionally and logically (which is unusual for me). Logic and the ability to remove emotions from decisions was my superpower. Ugh.
This morning I made breakfast plates, set them out to cool, then went about my next set of duties. It was not until snack, when the kids asked, what about breakfast did I realize what I had done. The parents were awesome about it through the parents app, but I have to admit, that scared the bejeezuz out of me. I guess if they were hungry they would have shook me out of my stupor, one of them is 5 years old, and my DH is home, but still...... I am the rock in this house.
The last hurdle will be the hardest. Even though I will be the one doing all the work, I have to get four other people to give the go ahead. These four people can't even decide a location or date to meet for discussion and paperwork. Limbo blows.
DW’s in Texas for Nationals till Monday. Im getting ready for a craft fair this Sunday. If there has been one thing that has surprised me about going full time in my shop is how much time I spend doing things not actually in my shop. Getting stuff ready for my booth this weekend, admin stuff for the next show in Atlanta in June, dealing with clients———— I swear I spend more time with a laptop then a hammer or grinder. Still an absolute great time.
For just a bit, my world is at peace. Daycare kids are getting along great. Daycare parents are doing well and even socializing outside of here. The extended family is in a calm section of the usual cycle. Bills are paid. No one is actively sick. Nothing is broken.
Funny how that makes me more nervous. I specialize in chaos. The calm can be unnerving.
I got my bomb! my brother which has the heart issues is having trouble with his blood pressure and they have doubled his meds. The heart dr wants to get with the kidney dr to schedule a heartcath/renal angiogram at the same time.....heart dr feels there are blockages but thinks this time they may be going to the kidney area?? awaiting for scheduling and praying for good results!
AG- Because we canceled our Florida Keys trip. I ordered from the local fishery there (lobster, blue crab claws, oysters and shrimp) and shipped directly to our house. We split it up to last us 4 weekends.
Closed today for my anniversary, had a different family try to drop off. DH wakes me and says someone is here.
Later I get an email from dcm (step dcd was dropping off) responding to my email about summer plans and DCB will be his dad's for the summer and then they are going to send him to preschool, bummer my ds really has learned from this DCB and they are great friends.
Off to my wait-list and Facebook to advertise my opening. Praying that I get an older child vs an infant. I think I would rather run with an open spot then have a nb for the summer.
Still not heard back from the pt teacher family.
Still not sure what to do with SA kids, don't expect to keep them next fall but not sure what to do for the summer. I don't want to say anything until I hear from the teacher family.
We've always had bears and other wild life roam through our yard but for some reason this year we have an army of them! The other night yellow dog starts barking at 2AM. Our front door has a large glass panel in which he can see out of. He usually sleeps in front of the door where it's a bit cooler and he's out of line of the midnight cat chase that happens every night. lol! Anyways, my DH gets up to see why yellow dog is barking. There is Mama bear all the way on top of the post in which we hang our bird feeders while her 3 (yes, THREE!) baby cubs wait below. They look like little bowling balls! Adorable but not wanted in my yard.
Last night, I am walking from the living room to the kitchen and pass by the patio doors (all glass) and catch something out of the corner of my eye. Right in the middle of they yard is a young bear (not a baby/probably last years cub) laying right in the middle of the yard sunning himself! DH ran outside and shoo'ed him away but according to the security cameras, he came back a couple hours later to finish his nap.
A few days ago, we see this ginormous bird trying to blend in with the deer eating at the feeder. Looks like a small ostrich.... turns out it's a wild turkey. We do NOT have wild turkey's in my area. Yellow dog sees it and starts barking like crazy! He is not allowed to bark at or chase the deer and is very good at not doing so but since this wild turkey isn't something we've seen before he takes off in chase! Drives the wild turkey right into the thick brush/woods in the back of the yard. DH and I are standing on the back deck watching. Pretty soon, here comes yellow dog running toward the house! On his heels are a pack of wild turkeys! From what we figure, it was 3 Toms and 3 hens... apparently they can be fairly aggressive so yellow dog was right to head back to the safety of his yard. Since then, we've seen them on camera but they haven't shown themselves when we have been outside. Odd birds but since they are not usually in my part of the state, they are interesting to watch none the less.
We get up this morning and my hubby always checks the photos sent to his phone from the multiple cameras we have around the property and we see several HUGE racoons raiding the deer feeder around 3AM. They are cute as well but uninvited and unwanted in my yard.
The bears and raccoons make me reminisce of my younger life-time camping trips to the Smokey Mountains in east TN. Amazing! There were skunks too. We camped in tents back then, and I remember when the skunks came around dad would say very emphatically "DO NOT MOVE, STAY STILL" LOL We followed the bears paths looking for them but NO MOVING around the skunk visitors on our campsite. LOL
I'd love to get a camera for our yard and the fields surrounding it. We've seen lots of deer, bob cats, coyotes and even have a ton of wild turkeys but I've never seen a bear, although I know they're close by based on comments and pictures I see on the town's FB page. I often wonder what we're missing when we're asleep or just busy and not looking.
And yes...turkeys can be very aggressive. My dd works for the USPS. There's a route in the city where she works that has a problem with aggressive turkeys that chase carriers who are trying to deliver mail. She's not a carrier but every once in a while, has to deliver a priority package to someone. She ended up having to deliver a package to someone on that route. When she got out of her car, she could hear the turkeys nearby. She said she never moved so fast as she did that day! She was petrified that the turkeys would walk around the corner before she could get back to her car. lol
Happy Thursday! Counting the days till Wednesday, then off for a few for our annual Family River Trip. Thursday-Monday. I've made it almost through May with my New Year's Resolutions and am OK.......Not that I've stuck 100% to them but am definitely in a BETTER PLACE this year emotionally.
Have fun @Annalee!! I love water, too! DH and I always consider going to the mountains… but you just can’t beat anything with water LOL
Blackcat31 thank you! Oh, I know it’ll be well worth it. DD10 has hit the early stages of puberty. She cried over the silliest things this week. DD2.5 has hit the obnoxious power struggle toddler phase. I reaaaaalllllly need to miss them right now 😂
SHOUT OUT to BC this morning!!!! Had a sibling born Dec, 2021. His first day is TODAY. Dreaded it ALL weekend I had given the infant handout from BC when he was born.....while I know second-siblings are usually better babies, I feel the form helped as I told her I could/would/should NOT do this/that/other.....kept reminding her throughout the waiting time. Fast forward to day and the baby ate well, went to sleep on his own. played/watched the other kids without having to be touched or coddled constantly. So for a Monday and a three-day work week, I CAN DO THIS!
