Productive Weekend! But I'm sure tired this morning.....but feeling good about coming into the daycare room.....that is, until I see a parent....Just kidding, I've been much better about that this year.....still hanging with my 'changed mindset' goals....occasional setbacks but
Got some ideas from pinterest for birthday display and daily schedule with a reggio appeal.....of course, nothing I do looks exactly like pinterest
but I'm going to try. I REALLY like my CCRR coach and I appreciate her more since I NEVER worked with her through the old qris as I literally HATED that but now that I get to LEAD, I'm enjoying working with her. CCRR lets us lead and begin where we are and go where we want to go.....That's the way it should be and should have been over the past 20 years...yep that old qris began in 2001 and ended 2021. So, hopefully, my last 10-15 years will be the BEST yet. At least from MY enjoyment standpoint!

I will; let me get my displays up and I will take pics of the whole room. I have a list I'm chipping away at so I'm getting there!
FYI.....I've got two amazon deliveries I'm waiting for this week. LOLLast edited by Annalee; 08-15-2022, 06:36 AM.

My ccrr coach came after daycare closed yesterday and it's always 2 hours before we blink.....where does the time go? Just had to get in my mind my next steps.....she sees the change-over transformation and I NEEDED to hear that.....kind of nice to be de-brainwashed (if that's a word). That's what has taken me so long......keeping the old qris twenty-year syndrome out of my head. INSERT mad, frustrated emojis here! Not sure that will ever totally leave my mind. But I guess it made me who I am today.Last edited by Annalee; 08-16-2022, 04:30 AM.

School started here today. I only had three school-agers for the summer, but it’s still been a huge difference today. The best part is that nap is peaceful once again.

Anyone else have a DCK that isn’t directly a problem child but when they aren’t there it just seems like the days go smoother? I have a DCG1.5 that isn’t really a problem but we had a day last week that she wasn’t here and it seemed like things were just so much easier 😂 there is nothing she really does when she is here that causes issues, so I’m not sure why it is haha
But I have a short week this week since I took Friday off and then she won’t be here all next week and I can’t wait to see how it goes! Lol

Same!! Had a little one (2.5yr old) gone Mon/Tues and the whole group dynamic changed. I noticed my attitude/approach to the day was more positive as well.
Child is back today and .....yeah. lol! They don't really do anything naughty or negative but just not a kid I click with or that the other kids really flock to either.
Just a different kind of kid I guess.

About 3:30 this morning I woke up needing to go the bathroombut I felt eerie.....we sleep with a fan so I didn't hear anything; so I go on to the bathroom but just felt a little scared. Well, y'all know my psycho, intuition, gut-feeling-self..... Fast forward to me getting up at 5:30 and my son hollers at me from down stairs saying "come down here"....he said he had been awake since 4:00 cause his truck alarm kept going off. He had went outside and didn't notice any thing gone but said he felt like someone was out there.
Now that's FREAKY!
Maybe it was nothing, by my gut and my son's gut is usually spot-on. He is an avid outdoorsment, too, so?

That really is scary! Hopefully you won't have a repeat but is there any possibility the police can do a few extra patrols by your house tonight and maybe for the next few nights? Any time I've ever felt that eerie feeling that something wasn't right, it turned out in the end that I was glad I trusted my gut. My son has that gut/intuition thing going, too. I'm learning to listen to him when he says something doesn't feel right.

My son didn't tell me till yesterday, his tailgate was open when he went out early that morning and his weedeater and yeti cooler was in the back....they had opened the tailgate to get those items but the alarm scared them I guess. Said their must have been two of them as the alarm wouldn't have went off without the door handles being pulled, he thinks this anyway??

I am open today, my vacation time was productive but too short. School started yesterday and the bus comes 15 minutes earlier than last year, so I need to make adjustments our morning to make sure we get out the door on time. My DD may have to get up earlier to be ready on time.
I only have two families/kids (plus mine) today.
Daily connect app is not opening on my fire tablet so everyone is checking in on my phone. I tried rebooting and reinstalling but still won't open. I sent a report to DC waiting on the repair.
Waiting for my consultant to show for my inspection. My renewal is labor day so he could come any day. He tends to come during nap but last year it was during lunch.

So happy most of our licensing is now digital....sure saves on time......and we know everytime they are coming except one; unless there is a complaint filed. So many positive changes since I began back in 1992.
I do NOT have anything to hide but for 20 years we received 4-6 unannounced visits per year plus an annual 4 hr assessment from another state entity.....not to mention all the paperwork. Now we get 3 announced visits and one unannounced and they stay 30-45 minutes each of the four visits and we have guidelines to be checked and that counts as our annual assessment.
Annual Renewal for licensing is now in a digital format and you only submit things that have expired like cpr/trainings/etc. So much better!!!! Much better on the mental health, too!

Daily connect is still not working, They did respond to my email. They said that they submitted corrections to amazon and they are just waiting for amazon to review it. That it may take a few days. Hopefully, it is up and running next week.
The consultant never showed, which is a relief to me.

Woke up at midnight last night feeling awful, DS11mo was crying, checked on him and he had a fever. Gave him some ibuprofen and he went back to sleep. About 30 minutes later I started getting sick and I either have food poisoning or a stomach bug. No fever though. My DS hasn’t been getting sick and he seems fine after the ibuprofen and some sleep. Obviously I sent out a message that I’m closed for today. Was supposed to have a new one start today so I feel horrible about it and most of the DCP didn’t message me back so I’m sure they are annoyed. Should be a fun week.

MissCait We are doing MUCH better, thank you!
Thankfully no one else got sick in my house besides me (and my dog. I guess they can get norovirus too). One DCG got sick once on Monday as well. She is the only DCG who came to DD5 b-day party on Saturday and DD said tons of her classmates have been out sick this week so my guess is that one of them brought it to the birthday party. I’ve been cleaning and sanitizing like crazy the past few days. But I’m in the Midwest where the stomach bugs are hitting super hard. There is an E.Coli outbreak going around as well.

I keep thinking today is Friday!!! Nooo! 🤣 It’s going to trip me out all day.
Today we meet my daughter’s teacher and drop off supplies. Very excited! I’ve heard she’s awesome! My daughter is excited. I hope 3rd grade is great for her. It was my absolute favorite year of school ever. 🤣 I know though I need to adjust my expectations and not assume anything since my daughter may have an entirely different experience.
Anyway, I got Funshine to try again. That starts today! Hope everyone has a great day!

I’ve never heard of those! I’ll have to check them out! I did Funshine before with a really great group. They loved it, they paid attention. It went so smooth. Then after that group it was like chaotic. I took on this family and just took over. They needed allll this special treatment for various reasons. Then after the first 6 months, the mom started dropping off at weird times and no consistency. I just didn’t say anything because they ended up being my main family for a while. Had kids leave for preschool or school. Covid hit and i laid low. Anyway, their second child and my youngest were best friends and just were bonkers together. Always getting into trouble, acting like monkeys. I was annoyed most days. Anyway I finally termed them for good reasons. Things are calmer. My two DC kids now are so well behaved. I feel like I can do this again. Thanks for telling me about those programs. I am going to look into them.

Oh and the two kids I have now, I started last summer. So I had that family and this family and tried funshone for September and between my youngest and that other families boy, and their awful drop off times, and the two others being only 14 months old. It was chaotic. I said forget this. Not worth the money if I can’t even get through a day with it.

The same toddler who is repulsed by a green bean happily rips clumps of grass from the yard and crams it into his mouth. 🤔
