Scheduled a flu shot for yesterday. Got all the DCK's settled in for rest time and left my DH with the kiddos while I went to get my shot. The lady at the registration desk couldn't find my name on the schedule....I went to check the MyChart app and saw my appointment was for today NOT yesterday!
I asked the registration lady if they could squeeze me in? I even used the "Im so busy as I have a child care and it's hard to make appointments. Also left my DH in charge of 10 little girls" They must of felt sorry for me (or more than likely, my DH) and squeezed me in quickly.
Woke up this morning though and have a weird rash/red patch all around the area I got the injection. My arm isn't sore at all but I've never had any type of reaction to the shot.
I also got a red rash like spot where the Band-aid was but only one side of the Band-aid. Put a message into my nurse but wondering if anyone else has had a similar reaction and if so did it just go away?

Annalee I didn't get the COVID booster again this year... not sure I will but I am not sore at all so grateful for that. Maybe it's just us getting old! lol!
Im not too worried as it seems there are lots of weird things that have happened to me/my body since turning 50 so I usually chalk it up to that. I always thought getting older meant sore joints and lots of wrinkles but instead it seems to be lots of bizarre annoyances instead Haha!

Welcome to the club BC, I have to be cautious after every shot because I react to some. That's exactly what my arm looks like after the Tdap plus a large lump under the skin and unbearable itching. I have it on my allergy list not to get it again. I am prescribed Benadryl first but now I have an EpiPen, just in case.

Hmm never thought of that…
Don’t they use latex free gloves now days? The blue ones… aren’t they nitrile?
It’s not rough feeling, bumpy or itchy?
My DH’s spot where he got his shot is yellowish like a bruise.
Neither of us are having any other side effects other than skin surface appearance. Both of us take histamine blockers as our regular daily pills.
DH because he’s diabetic and reacts to the adhesive on his insulin pods and glucose monitor adhesive and myself because I had several episodes of unexplained Angioedema with no connection to any foods, meds or environmental stuff. I carry an epi-pen and Benadryl at all times so who knows 🤷♀️

Maybe the alcohol gel they use after taking off the glove and before putting on the bandaid? My injections site turned into a huge bruise, and I was down for a couple days. It bled a lot, too, that was new for me. I had the Tdap, too, though. My BP may have been a bit high, too, since we were rushing to get to the appointment on time. Rescheduling is a nightmare.Last edited by Cat Herder; 10-26-2022, 06:24 AM.

My heart-issue bro is at the Hospital....went to Doctor as he has had high bp since Sunday (always high but higher than normal high) and they immediately sent him to hospital....doing tests now. I told him not to be having a heart attack and mess up my ballgame this Saturday....LOL He is a easy-going don't-worry-bout-me person....Seriously he jokes around alot to hide how he really feels but I do hope he is ok....He has come through so many times like this, I have the fear of that ONE TIME he doesn't....we are all waiting to know what/if we need to do something quickly!

10th day at the gym....I've earned a large caramel iced coffee; got it at Dunkins Donuts instead of McDonalds as my crew told me it has less sugarSo that makes it ok, right?
Seriously, though, I'm trying to simply eat my meals, not into starving myself, I like food too much for that......I've been a grazer so I'm learning NOT to pick up everything and eat it
HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!

Had a meeting at my DD school, around ten. While we were waiting in the office, the admin was dealing with other things. One was a sick child whose dad dropped him off. The admin took the note and asked a few questions while taking his temp.
Admin: Did dad give you anything?
Boy: some cough med Admin: Anything else, like for pain.
Boy: yes
Admin: go lay down, your dad is going to pick you up
Boy: but mom is supposed to pick me up today
Admin: your dad is going to do it
Way to go admin.

I think I just got contacted by another MN family for care. I starting to think there is something going on and my dc is really being advertised in MN.

The first family said they got me from parent aware, I did check parentware and I can't find a daycare with my daycare name. I did let them know that I didn't live in Minnesota. (My contact form asks for zip code so that's how I knew where they were)
This family had a uncommon name for my area so I facebooked stalk them and the top name in the search the Minnesota.
Reply to them but I haven't heard back.

No gym today; blowed-raked-tied up-carried off leaves from my playground yesterday and the nerve from back all the way down my leg is feeling it. After the fiasco I wrote about in the venting thread happened, I went to work outside.....just kept shaking my head thinking about the craziness that happens daily!
