I love when one parent throws the other one under the bus and when I mention that I will give the pick up parent a hard time about it, the drop off parent starts back peddling.

This morning a DCM says to me that she was using the bathroom and when she came out DCK3 had a bowl of M&M's. DCM says she "yelled" at DCD about how inappropriate that is and how DCK can't have a BOWL of candy before daycare so I said I was going to give DCD a hard time about it and tell him I fed DCK a bowl of sugar before he got there and DCM immediately starts saying things like "Oh, he will feel bad so maybe not mention it" and "Well, it really wasn't his fault" and "He knows better now so no need to mention it"

I wonder if she played a bigger part in giving dck the M&Ms than she was willing to admit or if she was just scared dcd would be upset with her for ratting him out. lol

e.j. this mom is definitely the one to give treats or strange things to her kid before drop off and likes to throw dad under the bus. Dad is always clueless because he's rarely involved. He has children older than this mother...so he is more strict and less apt to just give in. It's just silly because why even mention it to me at all?

Dishwasher stopped draining. Good thing black Friday/cyber Monday is just around the corner.

OOOOHHHH, mine did this last year but it was the stopped-up pipes, not the dishwasher itself; when I bought a new dishwasher, it done the same thing so I had to get someone to clean the pipe/drains out. Good Luck!

You don't realize how much you rely on appliances like these until they stop working all of a sudden. Around here, many of the stores are starting their Black Friday sales now. The thought of having to go without my dishwasher for a week or more gives me such major anxiety I'd be out shopping for a new one tonight. I guess I'm more spoiled than I thought! lol

Annalee This dishwasher is 7 years old which is the life of most kitchen appliances nowadays. but DH says he will check the pipes just in case. But I think, either way, he will let me get a new one.

e.j. It has not been bad washing the dishes, DH did it today while I was at the store. It was nice coming home and seeing the dishes all washed.

We have a busy week this week. We’re traveling for Thanksgiving tomorrow with DH family. DH and I are hosting Thanksgiving dinner on Friday and then we have Christmas photos and another Thanksgiving dinner on Saturday. On one hand, I’m happy I won’t be cooking until next week. But on the other hand, I’m already exhausted thinking about how busy the next three days are going to be. I am ready for Sunday!

I am having another coffee to make it thru these final hours! ☕️

Skipped the gym today as I'm cooking and now have all of that under control so I'm sitting in the quiet with my coffee and Andy Griffith going in the background; my sons have gone hunting; dh is still asleep; so a nice, quiet start to my day; until about 45 people gather together at 12 at my mom's (next door). Today is my fourth Thanksgiving meal Planning to take my mom and meander around town tomorrow, get our second shingles shot and have a change-of-venue weekend. I'm closed Monday for something I have to take care of so I'm planning to enjoy the extended weekend. Hope ALL have a wonderful Holiday Weekend!

Received one of my grants this morning so I will be purchasing some new child care items upon my return from meandering around town this morning.......and again, no gym today, only my treadmill......I have to say I've enjoyed an extra hour OR TWO of sleep the past two days.....feeling refreshed......our large Thanksgiving meal was calm and soothing for EVERYONE yesterday....covid brought about some appreciate for each other's company....some good pool table playing, cards, games, football, basketball, etc. for the day.

Annalee You were right, the pipes were plugged but the dishwasher is leaking. So we are getting a new one.

I got one pretty much like I had but went with stainless this go around; that's why I wasn't upset when they ended up having to unclog the pipes..The dishwasher was all I lacked having all stainless appliances and the brand is Frigidaire..... I don't like buying anything until I HAVE to so?

We have a Whirlpool stainless with stainless tub inside. We’ve had it for a little over a year. It’s super quiet and does a fantastic job. The racks adjust for different sized dishes and it offers different cycles such as top rack only or sanitize.
Previously we had a Kenmore which was great and had it almost 17 yrs but we swapped it out for the newest one when we bought a new fridge and stove and wanted all matching appliances.

Happy Monday everyone! Hoping everybody had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Also hoping all your DCK's aren't awful today after a long weekend! So far I have 2 out sick and the rest all seem like they are still asleep although they are here...lol!

Of course, I had one show up wearing "underwear" (Pull-ups) because they were miraculously trained over the weekend. Fine and dandy except it's a lie. Immediately after walking in the door, DCK says they need to go potty. I say "go ahead and go to the bathroom and I'll be right there" I say goodbye to DCP and walk to bathroom.

Child is standing in front of toilet fully dressed. Says "I went pee" (another lie) They can NOT undress or dress themselves so yeah. Of course at home, they are 100% trained with zero issues dressing or undressing, knowing they need to go before going and can manage the whole process at home unassisted. Here however, the bathroom seems like a fun house they've never been in before and the clothing they wear to daycare is clearly VERY different than what they wear at home because the child has NO idea pants go down (or up for that matter).

I just wish parents understood what they are told about potty training and daycare and that there are steps a child MUST know before they are able to use the bathroom/wear underwear or be considered trained at daycare. Unfortunately, teaching the steps out of order makes things so much harder in the long run.

We did have a fantastic Thanksgiving.

Monday is actually going really well. They will make me pay for that tomorrow, true to form. Everyone was here right after opening, all bright eyed and perky. We spent the majority of the day outside and they were all asleep before I could even finish passing out blankets for naptime.

It is one thing for my dishwasher to go but my stoppers for the sink are not staying sealed. They do not have this style of stopper locally, so I had to mail-order them and will not get them until this weekend.

I use a plastic lid, They suction to the sink drain perfectly! It was an accident that I discovered they do and when my sink stoppers started leaking I just started using the plastic lid. Now its the only way I do it! It's one of those plastic lids from a small cottage cheese container. If you have one it might be a temp fix until your mail order ones arrive.

@balckcat31 thanks for the suggestion. Apparently one is still working and I have it the washing side. But I can try a lid on the rinse side.

Haven't been to the gym since Wednesday last week.......Have used the treadmill at home but got the second shingles shot Friday and put me out for a couple days....anyway, went today and have lost 9.6 lbs in the last 7-8 weeks. I have really focused on my in-between eating as I was a grazer....so my stomach actually feels hungry at meals now. and I don't eat for 12 hours after I finish supper. So, it is nice to know it's working to the positive..... I NEED the POSITIVE!

Yes on the energy level.....and starting my day with the workout works best; I've tried the evening but just not as good of results for me.....unless I use my treadmill at home in the evening.....I like that part..... My cousin got me on the 12 incline/ 3 speed/ 30 minutes from the beginning on the treadmills at the gym and I finish with that each morning...at home my treadmill is a little different with the numbers; I'm assuming commercial grade treadmill to my home nordictrac?? I feel the strain; feel like I'm gonna fly off the back...LOLOL It does burn many more calories with the incline, though so I like that.

That is great! I was doing good with the morning workouts, then the time change happened. I want to go to bed at 7 pm and am wide awake at 2 am. I have to get back into my routine. I feel so much calmer and focused after my morning 60. I use evening workouts to vent the frustration from the day. Unfortunately, my husband wants me to eat with him when I want to hit the treadmill. lol Timing is just not working for me right now.

I am trying to catch up with decorating, cleaning and all things "holiday prep", but my heart is not into it this year. I mostly want to do a festivus pole up by the road and let everyone just scream horrible things at it until we all feel a little better.

We spend way too much time being silenced in fear of being canceled or unemployed.

The annual airing of grievances sounds so good right now...

Mom and I have been chistmas-ing the daycare room this week....still gotta get my ornaments on my own tree....if it wasn't for my youngest son (19 now) I would do less and less but he's the one that cried when finding out there was NO santa.......he LOVES Christmas and we don't do alot of gifts just games and fun....but he LOVES it and always has!
