Oh my goodness, everyone must have the same New Year's resolution....when I drove in the gym parking lot, it was so full....Of course I was a little later today so hoping 4:30 won't be like that ..... busy, busy, busy but exciting at the same time!

I remember the gym always being packed during the first part of the year. I went to the same gym for 15 years, then during lockdown, I bought a treadmill, weights, and subscribed to Les Mills on demand, so I could continue doing body pump. I haven’t actually done anything in awhile, but I’m getting back to it today. The soreness will be intense at first!

Good for you, Rockgirl! I've never really worked out nor ever really felt the need....covid brought on some pounds I didn't like at all.....so here I am now. It has also brought some friends whom I've know a long time but we've gotten closer and bonded so the benefits have been the best.

My DH made the comment that since the holidays are over we have to listen to non-stop TV and radio ads as well as store flyers pushing exercise equipment, diets and gym memberships
... atleast until the ads for mattresses and tax preparations start.

Yes, last night I told my dh that stupid song they play for the workout commercials is played at the gym every third or fourth song....my sons bought me air pods pro for Christmas so I'm covered now from the crazy music they play; I would like some good ole 80's rock but just isn't going to happen.... LOL

All but one of my parents were off today and spending the day with their kids… so instead of having the one family dump their child on me (they’re always here if my doors are open, PITA about illness policies, etc) I closed today!
I am glad I did, DH was off and we got to do some shopping with the girls.

Sounds like my kind of vacation! Switch out taking the dogs to the groomers with jury duty and throw in a physical exam appointment and a couple of interviews and you've just described how I usually spend my vacation weeks. You're smart to say you won't do that anymore! I haven't smartened up yet! lolLast edited by e.j.; 01-03-2023, 02:16 PM.

I was closed today, no school for DD or work for DH. I tried to get some biz things done.
We decided to go ahead a switch trash services. I had been calling other companies for a few months now. I decided on G, they cost about the same and had better Customer Service. Last night I completed their registration form and today I got an email with instructions to pay by cc. Since I do not pay bills via Visa, I called to have it taken out of my checking account. The lady quoted me $20 more than the email (and the phone quotes I got before). I told her that it was incorrect due to the other quotes, and she confirmed that it was correct. I told her that I felt that they should honor the quote in the email when she was unwilling, I hung up.
There was only one company that quoted me that high this summer and come to find out, they just bought them.
I called everywhere and I can not find any trash company in my area outside R that charges a delivery fee for their can and a deposit, G that changed their rates, and my current service that never returns calls. Except for the local guy that is charging under the table and picking up with his truck.
A simple task to pay for trash took up a good couple of hours and I am still at square one.
(my current company is having billing and CS issues)

That's got to be so frustrating and it's not like you can go without trash pick-up for long. I'm sorry you're going through this. The company that picks up trash for our town recently changed to a more automated system and with that came a change in some of the rules we have to follow.
Many in the town were up in arms about the changes. I'm just glad we have town-wide pick-up, that the town negotiates all of that for us and that I don't have to go through the hassle you're going through right now! Good luck.

Back to work today. I am not planning much because I fully expect this week to be all about getting back on a routine.
I hope everyone has a smooth day.

I'm back to work today, too. Two kids are missing - one is getting over Covid and another has pink eye and a double ear infection. I feel bad for both but am so relieved I was closed last week and missed that germ share!
The kids who are here today have been pretty well behaved. It's 2:00 now, though, and I feel as though I never had a vacation. Glad it's a short week!

I did it. Lol. Dcm texted this morning that Dcg would be picked up today for a doctor's appointment and wanted to make sure dcg would be fed. The last time she came 18 minutes after the time that she had said she was coming.
So this time, like last time, I had dcg ready to go 10 minutes before her pick up time but This time I texted dcm and said dcg I is fed and ready to go see you in 10. She was only 2 minutes late this time.
Meanwhile, instead of waiting to get the others ready to go outside. I had them get ready with the plan that if she still wasn't there I was going to have them wait and then let her know they've been waiting for her so they could go outside.

Do you ever feel like our A+ daycare set-up gets a wrench thrown in it quickly each morning once the kids arrive.....every day is so challenging.....I've been in this 30 years and I can remember the days when my daycare kids would follow the routine on their own with little guidance......every day is a MONDAY now!
Hope Y'all have a wonderful day!

We’re having sustained winds around 35 mph, with gusts of 60 mph. We’re on the plains, so there’s nothing to block it. It really affects the kids’ behavior. I’m actually feeling out of sorts, myself. Some children never really settled into nap today, and others woke up more than an hour early. Come on, 5:30! 🤪
