My mother worked as a teacher's aide and swore she could tell when a big storm was coming based on the kids' behavior. I see the same thing as a childcare provider, although I'm not as accurate a forecaster as she was. Maybe it's because I only see the behavior of 6 kids vs hundreds? lol Stay safe!
Just posted my positives on the positive-thread but sharing here, trying not to be negative and vent but went to chiro/massage yesterday and while there told them my thumb joint has been hurting lots so they taped it up for a few days hoping the non-use will help; possibly out of joint but don't know how I would have done that??? Oh well, still praising the good; hoping the tape works!
1.5 hours left for me today but who's counting???? ME, THAT'S WHO! What a MONDAY!!! RAIN all week and more storms possible..... The positive for me today is my son got a haircut
I hope you both stay safe - as well as any others here who are in the path of those storms. The news stations here have been reporting on the incredible devastation done by the tornados that have touched down this past month.
Last day for the week!!!!!! Got some errands to run tomorrow and getting my organizational cousin in my daycare cabinets Saturday and Sunday lunch with egghunt with extended family....I'm tired already!
AGREED, BC! Hiring this girl has been welcoming and relaxing and my hope is the organization will help my relaxation time...especially as getting in order relaxes the mind!!!
Three hours later.......Five 30-gallon trashbags in the dumpster, two totes for a future yard sale, and the rest organized neatly in my cabinets.....rearranged the flooring with carpets and materials.....taking a break next Saturday as I'm having that scan-thing everyone has the shows up any thing supposedly wrong in your body......all is well with me I'm assuming but it's a make-you-feel-better kind of thing or so my family tells me....my hubs, mom and one bro have had it......my hubs had it twice actually because he had recently had covid and his lungs looked bad so they re-did his six months later.....amazing what covid can do to you; especially worrysome for these younger kids and their future. Anyway, off-topic a little bit, but?? FYI....As bad as I dreaded spending my Saturday morning cleaning/organizing......I am so HAPPY it's completed now. My cousin-helper (15) and I emptied the cabinets then I separated and she organized what I kept......she's AMAZING!!!! I just don't have the legs nor the mind that I used to have!!!!
I worked on this all evening yesterday but found a microsoft site that list the outages and my problem was felt many places. BUT it's working this morning. Yay!
We are back home (Saturday) and discovered the only thing we lost in the storms while we were gone was the cloth part of a porch umbrella. The metal part is fine, so I am hoping I can just replace the cloth part.
The town flooded blocking us from using one bridge that heads to town. It is the bridge for my DD bus route so her bus was later this morning.
April 17 will be six months for me at the gym; 15+ lbs gone and countless inches as well; gave me a reason to order me a few new clothesmy bro said if you make it six months, it becomes a habit.....I've done that; since NO ONE is going with me I've been going in the evenings some instead of the early morning so I've switched it up.....Feeling the BLESSED-THANKFUL-HAPPY and a little PROUD this morning.......since my boys support themselves, I don't feel guilty putting some of my serving into MYSELF.
It’s sunny and supposed to be 75° today! I’ve canceled all structured learning this week. This is the first nice week we’ve had in months, we’re going to enjoy it!!!
Same here - sunny and 75. Except for a few blips here and there, we had a warmer than normal winter, with less snow than usual. We've still been outside and enjoying the spring weather this week. It's way too nice to stay inside!
Yes, it's beautiful here as well....
Of course, with the nice weather I always get the "Oh DCK is so excited to be able to play outside! We brought boots!"
Nevermind that I explain every.single.year that we don't get outside time for about 2-4 weeks while snow is melting and things are drying up. There is NO place to play outside that isn't wet or muddy ..... I don't care if you bring an entire wetsuit with boots. I don't have the hands or the willingness to bring a dozen preschool/toddlers outside so that I can drag the mud back inside the second someone gets wet or dirty.
NEWS FLASH PARENTS: You have outside at your house too. Just in case you weren't aware of that.
Plus it's not getting dark ow until well after 8PM so TAKE YOUR OWN KIDS OUTSIDE!!!
