I'm a firm believer that things happen (or don't happen) for a reason. I usually have no trouble staying as full as I want to be but there have been a couple of times when I worried a little and thought, "God, if I'm meant to continue to do this job, please send me a family soon." I've never gone long after that without hearing from someone who's looking for childcare.

Hopefully you get the break you need until your husband has finished school or is at least closer to it. It must be tough to have him gone so much; I imagine starting a new dc family, with all that can entail, would feel mentally draining right now. Enjoy the slightly lighter load while you can!

Hang in there.... you are correct to simply trust that things will work out. In the almost 3 decades I've been in this business, things have been both up and down and during the down times, trusting things will work out as they're meant to be has been my anchor. Thuankfully, things have always worked out as here I am. Still in business.

Things WILL turn around. Keep the faith and know you're not alone. ((hugs))

Alwaysgreener I’ve never had an issue filling my spots in the three years I’ve been open. This time last year, I had a waiting list all the way to August 2023. When I called down my waiting list, they had found other care, decided to stay home or they were crazy.

I am hopeful this is just God’s way of lightening my load for the time being since I have prospects ready to sign up for June and my August spots filled.

Seriously I have no prospects either. I was full this time last year and I lost 3 families and gained one last year plus my state up our ratios but I still do not get any calls and the ones I do get are just nuts.

Another DCM became a SAHM. I have two openings and no prospects to fill them with until June. I’m staying positive and trusting God. I think this might be what I need during this season. DH is in his final five weeks of school and he’s gone 4 nights/week. The load of everything is falling on me for the time being and perhaps taking on new DCK won’t be good for my mental health.

My spots for August are already filled when my DCK’s age out.

I expect to have one maybe two kids today, both are picked up by 3 and 4. It will be an early Friday!!

Unfortunately it's going to be one of those days. I started cleaning while getting ready because my first family normally shows at 40-45 after. He arrived at 36 after. Dh didn't lock the door, so he walked right in.

DD wasn't up because dh didn't wake her. Although her alarm was going off. She didn't make her lunch last night, so I had to quickly to make sure she got out the door on time.

We got to the stop on time.

I am not sure but I think dh wasn't feeling well this morning or got up late, he's had a rough week at work and most likely a little off this morning.

It is snowing today, hasn't stopped all morning although it is also melting too.

I have packed away all snow gear and got rid of ds boots as he has out grown them before spring break.

I was wearing shorts yesterday and it will be warm enough for shorts again at the end of the week.

Same here - sunny and 75. Except for a few blips here and there, we had a warmer than normal winter, with less snow than usual. We've still been outside and enjoying the spring weather this week. It's way too nice to stay inside!

Yes, it's beautiful here as well....
Of course, with the nice weather I always get the "Oh DCK is so excited to be able to play outside! We brought boots!"

Nevermind that I explain every.single.year that we don't get outside time for about 2-4 weeks while snow is melting and things are drying up. There is NO place to play outside that isn't wet or muddy ..... I don't care if you bring an entire wetsuit with boots. I don't have the hands or the willingness to bring a dozen preschool/toddlers outside so that I can drag the mud back inside the second someone gets wet or dirty.

NEWS FLASH PARENTS: You have outside at your house too. Just in case you weren't aware of that.
Plus it's not getting dark ow until well after 8PM so TAKE YOUR OWN KIDS OUTSIDE!!!

It’s sunny and supposed to be 75° today! I’ve canceled all structured learning this week. This is the first nice week we’ve had in months, we’re going to enjoy it!!!

April 17 will be six months for me at the gym; 15+ lbs gone and countless inches as well; gave me a reason to order me a few new clothesmy bro said if you make it six months, it becomes a habit.....I've done that; since NO ONE is going with me I've been going in the evenings some instead of the early morning so I've switched it up.....Feeling the BLESSED-THANKFUL-HAPPY and a little PROUD this morning.......since my boys support themselves, I don't feel guilty putting some of my serving into MYSELF.
