  • I was closed yesterday for my aunt's funeral so only one day worked thus far after my long break break from last week.......Even though we had a funeral, the time off was wonderful....really did only what I wanted and when I wanted....a couple hours in daycare each day it seemed preparing for the new preschool year but nothing pressing; I really needed that! Probably should have done so much more for my home but really enjoyed simplicity....drinking coffee, watching tv, web browsing, etc. Got to get some bushes trimmed, and the basement emptied as it catches everything.....but it's all good!

    • A wonderful Saturday! My college football team lost but still watching games and loving hearing the excitement and even the non-excitement from the crowd...love the whole strategy-competitive-environments....I could watch college sports ALL DAY LONG! When I was younger, my family went to most every home game but we are old now and really like 'instant replay'...... My home-neighbors hear me now rather than my stadium neighbors. My brother and his fam went today; my nephew has season tickets and I may go to one game this year but really like the pajama-day in my own home.....

      • Well, my dishwasher needs a pump which is around $200 so I'm getting a NEW dishwasher installed today instead....been going with stainless steel as my appliances tear up....so now only lack the stove dying to complete that project....just can't justify buying anything unless necessary.....got too much of my dad in me to do that..... My sons getting on my yard for the fall cleanup.....so getting a little pumped and feeling brighter; praying I can sustain this feeling....y'all know I'm an emotional roller coaster these days

Welll the new dishwasher doesn't drain either so it must be something other than the pump...

The dishwasher is working now; had something hung going down through the drain??? Had to take it out and re-install but it works and they didn't charge me because technically the other one could have been fixed....but I had been waiting to upgrade to stainless steel anyway so ??

        • Pt family A is out quarantine with m and d sick. Kids have no symptoms.

Ft Family B baby got a temp and Mom's not feeling good.

Pt Family C and Ft Family D are good however D is the only one here and seems sad. She doesn't want to do anything today. It doesn't help that it is raining all week and she loves being outside.

DD is back in school (Tuesday) after being home for a week waiting for a covid test that never came, we had to find a different location and get her a rapid so she can go back to school. Still waiting on covid test from first location.

Ds it's been himself but he misses his sister now that she's been back to school.

            • I think I'm gonna go to the Fair tonight which I rarely do as I despise the Fair but my cousin, not much younger than me, has decided to do the car jump & run. While we think he's nuts and could not end well, we all are going to watch him anyway. It seems my entire extended family are thirsting for some FUN and Family-time that isn't centered on our agreement/disagreement about Covid. One step out of the box begins tonight.

Fun, Fun, his car landed bottom up in the first heat but he got out jumping and happy as were all of us.....I started with a corn dog, blooming onion, frozen lemonade then went on to the funnel cakes and cotton candy Walked around the midway with my great-nieces, niece, cousins and saw multiple people I knew even from high school 37 years ago..... and to top it off, didn't set my alarm this morning...got up at 6:40; usually up around 5:30.....but no kids come in till 7:00 right now so I'm good

Im sure they all went to someone else for care so they catch illness bugs there... I always love and of course look forward to vacation time but never fails the days after I re-open turn out to be massively stressful as the kids come back horrid and seem to forget every routine and rule I have here. Dont even get me started on the parents as they are always 10X's worse than their kids. I wonder if it's payback for forcing them to parent their own offspring. lol!

LOL Yes, what a shame to have to parent your own child? LOL

                • So this past weekend was my father's 80th birthday and my nieces wedding, which my kids weren't invited to, so we didn't go.
This is also the weekend my dh and brother go with a group of men from go camping, so since we couldn't go to the wedding, he went camping (my brother did both).
Well all was well until Saturday morning when my dd9 keep running to the bathroom.
I made an appointment at the med center, since everyone was getting ready for the wedding, ds3 had to go with us.
Appointment was at 2 but didn't go back until 230. Afterwards went a grabbed lunch and headed to the pharmacy, the order wasn't ready yet. So I headed to another pharmacy closer to home to have it transferred, they were closed, staffing issues. On to a third pharmacy and another wait. Five hours after we left home, we headed home.
After all that, I now having to fight with DD every time she needs to take the meds.
Sunday morning, ds decided to change his own diaper... He ended up in the bath while I cleaned his room.

(((hugs))) for dealing with such a crappy (literally and figuratively) weekend. Sounds like it was crazy so I hope you were able to catch a few moments for yourself.

                • So I have a beehive shaped bug trap outside my kitchen window. Yesterday I noticed that it was covered with yellow jacket bees and there was a bunch inside still alive. Even the hook it is hanging on has several bees on it. It was like that every time I checked on it yesterday. Today it seems fuller with less on the outside but still very active on the inside and outside.

The only thing that I can think is the queen got trapped and they are trying to help her.

                  Either yeah.

It is still covered with bees inside and out. The funny thing is that there is handful of flies joining the party. It is so odd.

                • I am back today from our vacation and getting back into the groove. We had a great time, met some interesting people and ate very well. I plan to get the Halloween decorations going ASAP, but am fighting the urge to not create more work for myself. Since my kids moved out, I just don't feel the holidays, anymore, and don't really even want to go through the motions. Ugh, I know I will, because I always have, but......

                  Anyone else feeling it?

If I am being honest, the only thing I am looking forward to besides my next day off is for the newest infant to start holding her own bottle. lol!! Now, that is worth celebrating in group care. ha!

                  • Not sure if this is a funny or head scratcher but I got a text from a DCP last night that says:

"Hi! There is no school next Thursday/Friday. Just wondering, is there any way you can watch my boys from about 8-2:30? If you have to charge me, I understand. Thanks!"

#1 ~ She knows I do not take SA kids. (She's asked and been told no before)
#2 ~ If for some odd reason I did watch them, why wouldn't I charge for it????

                    Parent's are so weird sometimes.

I'd reply back asking if she meant that text for me. I'd assume it was meant for a family member.

                  • So I am not open on Fridays, instead I take my dd to school and this is how it went.

I woke late had 45 minutes to get out the door. Dropped dd off at school, then headed to the part store to get a part for my van, made another stop, and then to the grocery store. As I was leaving the grocery store to head to my next stop, I heard a thump like I hit something, I stopped at the light and checked, I did not see anything in the mirror. As I turned the corner my warning light pop on. I pulled over, got out, and checked, tire looked good, and did not see anything but decided to go to our go-to repair shop down the road. On my why it started clunking, so I pulled over. I tried calling someone to come to get ds and the frozen food, as I was sitting there, I noticed I was sitting on the backside of a garage, so I went up there no trespassing two-track drive and begged them to repair my tire. After a few minutes plus $12, they had repaired the tire with a plug and I was on my way. They said whatever I hit/ran over was still in the tire.
