How do you handle playground clean up?
Is it done at the end of recess or end of day?

I always did a quick pick up before we came inside. Any big reorganization/ clean up I did at the end of the day.

Same as Dave... clean up every time we head in after use. Play at the end of the day means each child cleans up whatever activity they are doing when their pick up time arrives. Those left for last are usually herded over to the play set which requires no clean up.

I had to remove a lot of toys and activities, in order to follow cleaning regulations. I removed most of the small parts, so now aside from a few balls and trucks I have mostly big structures and ride on toys so at the end of the day there isn't much to clean up.

I'll make sure most things are picked up before heading in. I wash off the outdoor equipment in spring, summer, fall once per week mostly with just a hose and water. Ill do a bit of a soap rinse a few times per year. If the coups and such don't get put away during the week I don't worry.

Mostly things like rings, cones, chalk, dinos and other small stuff are what I worry about going in.

It also depends on what ages my kids are at the time. Currently I have 3 - 1 year olds, 1 - 2 year old (just turned) and a 3 year old. With younger groups I don't worry as much. My own two kids are also home right now during virtual school. Ill send myv8vyear old to do a pick up if needed. He likes it cause he earns money for helping.

I do the morning safety checklist and spider/snake/bird poo/squirrel pee wipe down/check while they hang out at the play table. We put toys away before we go in each day. I use bleach solution once per week with a garden sprayer, rinse with hose. I pressure wash monthly.

"bird poop, squirrel pee" ...every time I read what they expect from you, I tell myself I have to stop complaining that I'm over regulated. I don't know how you do it! Click image for larger version

I stomp, complain, post vents and play passive aggressive games with licensing. Then I follow the rules because I am also a perfectionist. Sigh.
