If it were me, I wouldn't charge since since dck hadn't started yet but I would explain that to the parent and make it clear that going forward, I will expect payment any time the child is out for any reason. I do understand why others would charge, though.

I charge by the day. I had planned to charge for yesterday, but didn't know if it would be arguable that I didn't have the signed contract yet.
Edited to add that I bill at the end of the month. I know most people don't, but it's always worked well for me.Last edited by Sparkles; 08-25-2021, 07:48 AM.

Do you charge by the day or week?
I charge by the week, in advance, whether they come or not.
I'd recommend starting as you intend to go otherwise you have just taught her the rules are not enforced and up to debate.Last edited by Cat Herder; 08-25-2021, 07:40 AM.

Would You Charge?
I had a new dck that was scheduled to start yesterday. Dck came down with a fever, so was not here. So, dck first day is today.
Would you still charge for yesterday? Dcm is bringing paperwork with her, so I don't have the signed contract yet.
