Can't wait for today to be over!! I had a late night, trying to tie up loose ends on the Mother's Day crafts the kids and I have been working on and my printer was giving me a hard time. Finally, about midnight, I decided to start the dishwasher up and at least get that running only to find that something is wrong with my dishwasher - again! (Just had it repaired a year ago.) Had to hand wash and sanitize everything. Finally got to bed at about 2:00. Got up at 6:00 and so far everything that could have gone wrong, has! The kids have been off the wall - fighting, hitting, pushing.... They're usually well behaved but we've had several rainy days in a row and they just need to get outside and let loose. After a hectic morning (won't bore anyone with the details), lunchtime came and I thought, "Well, at least I got lunch ready last night so all I have to do is warm it up!" only to find that one of my family members must have seen what I had made and thought it looked good enough for breakfast! Only about half of what I had cooked was left. Nap time is a little more than half over and I still have kids who have yet to settle down. The end of this day can not come soon enough! Sorry and thanks, at the same time, for the vent. I really needed it!!.

I feel like it has been a month of roadblocks. Everything I want to cross off the to do list requires someone else doing their part. I do not like having to depend on other people. All my solo projects, you know' the ones that are about me, are done so now I begrudgingly wait. I don't ask for other peoples help, but they don't mind demanding mine then making me wait to give it. Aggghhh...

Today is day number 2 with new dcg who is almost 2. So far she is doing well. She even went down for naptime both days without a peep and slept the full 2 hours. This last hour of her being here is dragging on. All my other dck leave by 4😁

You have my sympathy. I have one long time lingerer, too. Last one out by an hour. Lately she has begun pooping her pants after going potty and the rest leave. Of course her mom thinks it has something to do with me... because, you know, I control the kids bowels and lock her in the closet with no access to the toilet for the last hour of the day for kicks. It's fun for me. Super fun..... ugh. Kid may start spending the last hour of the day on the pot if this keeps up. 12 more weeks, 12 more weeks until their last day. I should mention she has been potty trained for two years. Two years.

CH is she still doing this?! I would totally have her on the potty until mom comes!

It's been a rough day. My attitude isn't helping.

I have 2 kids starting KG in August, and I'm just counting down the days until they're gone...

"And the congregation says AMEN." Come on August. My frazzled nerves can't take this many "princess" girls much longer. I. Just. Can't.

Thanks, Gemma. After the kids left, things quieted down and I had a few minutes to hear myself think, I realized that everyone left here relatively happy and still alive. The day could have gone better but it could have gone a whole lot worse, too. I'm over my pity party and looking forward to going to bed at a slightly more reasonable hour tonight! Tomorrow is supposed to be sunnier here so we'll finish up those Mother's Day cards and spend the rest of the morning outside. I hope you have a better day tomorrow, too!

My days are 'challenging' lately. I have a few 'newbies' and my 'oldies' are demanding their 'own' attention........it's constantly "look at me; look at what I made; can I go to the bathroom; can I do this or that". Where is the being happy about 'independent-making my own choices" within kids today? I'm at full-capacity every day so busy, busy, busy.

Today I am still recovering from round two of my vaccination. Yesterday I went through a vast majority of side effects, Chills, low grade fever and migraine, thank goodness my dh took the day off for an appointment. He was able to help me and I was able to take a nap at nap time.

Today I felt better but as the morning went along, my head started hurting again. I also have a better crew today,

My dh had it worse the first shot than me, second shot is the opposite. We got mederma.

My headache is currently gone but my arm still hurts, the injection area is swollen and the whole arm itches. (same side effects I get with other vaccinations)

Another busy day but that's job security, right?

Have been looking at a ChildCraft 25 cubby storage unit to use for manipulatives (the shelves are adjustable)
. Any of y'all have childcraft materials....just wondering how sturdy this was as I would like to place this to be used as a counter for an area but also have place for the manipulatives with a double-use material and no wasted space.....make sense? Does anyone have any info to share on this?

Some days I can create amazing pieces of functional art. Other days I can’t drill 3 holes in a straight line. Today is one of the later.

Today I noticed a pattern whereby my DH waits until just before closing time to start his daily household chores. I start mine in the early morning and am done by opening time so I can relax after the last kid walks out the door. Because my DH is still "working" I hop up and help him "wrap things up" so he can join me. After all, he is cooking dinner too.... Wait.

Oh, it is on. I don't know when exactly we fell into this pattern but no more. I am a pro at the active ignore and redirect techniques and I am going to use them. There are only two adults that live in this house. We both pay equal bills, work equal hours and work from home. He even picked his chores when we divided then up after the kids moved out. We both have done station duties at the fire dept at the beginning of each and every shift for as long as we can remember, he cleans like a dream, there.... with a smile on his face and a song in his heart. Busted.

My brother once told me that if I did not want to work a line at the factory I was at, all I had to do was act like I could not catch on to how to do it. He was right, I got moved to a different line, unfortunately, I really could not get the hang of that job.

I sat down and enjoyed my evening and he joined me when he was done. He did not even seem to notice. I guess it was just a pattern we fell into that neither noticed.
