  • Missing it.

Recently, we moved to northern Minnesota. When we lived in the cities, I had an in-home. I closed it last November to prep for the move and selling our home and honestly, I was burnt out. We moved here in June and I started working at a local center. A new one in town and I wasn't happy. It wasn't run to my standard and the pay was awful so I quit. I decided to go into a new field and I am happy with that but I am missing having the children around. I miss having my own daycare and all it entails. I would run it super different today, then I did back in the cities. But I miss it.

I am currently not in a place where I can have that again but maybe someday.

My heart is sad and I miss all my babies.

Thanks Michael. I've been here a while but when this new format started, I had to start over for whatever reason. Lol. Probably a total of 4 years, maybe even 5. I like how streamlined this new site is.

We have a cabin in Pengilly. My family is originally from Nashwauk, my husbands is from Chisholm. We love it up here. We do not miss the city for anything.. well maybe the city amenities like garbage service. Lol.

Not really apples to apples, but I closed last year. It made more financial sense to be in my shop full time, and definitely was better for my family. But yeah- I miss the “fun kids” part of it occasionally. Then I remember the crazy a@@ parents, the late days/ too early mornings, and the other less than awesome moments. Good news- it does get easier. But yeah- it can suck sometimes when you’re not doing something that was in my case a big part of my life for over 2 decades.

If it’s the kids you miss maybe look for a volunteer thing you could do occasionally. Something like a zoo, kids museum, a school, etc.

That's a great idea. Something fun that I have a bit of control over with my time. The parents were the hardest part. The kids were awesome for the most part, but the parents.. I don't miss that at all. LOL.
