Parents pulling up, i see their car and wait for them with their child at the door…and they sit in their car forever. What are you doing?? Come get your kid!
just had a parent arrive 30min earlier than normal and sit in her car for 25mins. Wtf? I waited by the door fora while, but then had to go back downstairs where my daycare is because i have other kids to watch. I kind of find it rude. Happens all the time.

Question for you all. I have a 2.5 year old that has completely turned into a brat. She acts up as soon as she knows it's getting close to her time to leave.
I have her jacket on before mom comes.
Today she left out the door with her mother and proceeded to mess around with our giant inflatable Turkey outdoor decorations. She was running around it, tripping up the wires that hold it in place, hitting it.
Mom did nothing.
I am so over parents letting their kids act like jerks.
What should I do?

Just an FYI but that’s actually our second one as last year Johnnys mom let him run around it and he broke it. His mom had to purchase us a new one, I’d hate for you to have to do the same. I have been known to reprimand families on the intercom of my outdoor camera for this very reason. "Hey Joan, don't let Joey do that. I will have to charge you $300 for breaking my personal belongings since you know he's not allowed to roam on my property."

I’ve had older kids call their moms out: “why didn’t you come in? Were you on your PHONE??”

mine: every runny nose is always allergies, every fever is teething, every rash is eczema, all diarrhea is antibiotics (for a non-contagious ear infection) or fruit (aren’t we healthy?!?).

Kids not napping, parents come in after breakfast and don't care, teachers calling out every time their kid is sick and no one wanting to work.

AGREED! Happens multiple times a day...My sign-in is outside so I've placed a bench by the door inside and the child waits there....I have one large room so supervision isn't an issue. I don't like to send the child out anyway till parents have signed out because then I can place the child's hand in their's. It seems parents struggle with this part nowadays!

This is the biggest reason why I do outdoor pick ups. We will wait outside the last half hour before closing so that the procrastinators get crying, screaming and pounding on their car door if they don't get out.

My biggest pet peeve is skinny jeans. Why the h#ll do parents think it's cute to peel off tight jeans on diapered kids?

I’m in a little bit of a funk so everything drives me nuts lol!
The waiting in the car one makes me sad. I missed my kids when they were in daycare!

the biggest one bugging me now is when I have to exclude for symptoms and they try to backtrack. ‘Oh, I didn’t mean he had diarrhea that came out of his pants and got everywhere. I meant it was a regular poop’. ‘Oh, it wasn’t like a sick vomiting, it was like an infant spit up. That happened 4x’.

The business year is nearly behind me so I had decided to put everything that was driving me bonkers behind me two weeks ago lol.

But before that, the biggest offender:

Brattiness, rudeness, and talking back. Talking back falls under rudeness but it's so grating to have to deal with any child who has been so spoiled, indulged, and/or babied that any request of them to do something or any correction of their - frequent - misbehavior is met with their telling you what they're not going to do, screams and/or grunts, foot stomps, total meltdowns, or deflection - every. single. time. 🙄🙄🙄 - that it deserves to be highlighted on its own.

Flipping the plate over when they don't like the food.

Demanding food other than what has been served.

Grabbing the food on other kids' plates.

Even worse: grabbing my food, or whining and complaining that they want me to help with a new activity as soon as I start to eat, or demanding to have my food. BACK OFF (angry possum hiss)

Politicians trying to take away what I built for their "get the votes, keep the power" agenda.

There was no help for my generation, no scholarship's, no free rides or meals; I had to do it all on my own. I needed to care for my own children and work a fulltime job. Can't afford housing/insurance/food for five on one income. I figured it out. Now that I am profitable, they want to take it from me. And other women like me.

They want to force all working women to give up their children for someone else to raise. Universal childhoods for Universal workers.

If you figure out a way to support yourself, independently, they figure out a way to make it theirs. Every trade. Name one that has survived without their finger in the mix.

If they keep lowering ratios, this will no longer be a viable plan for our daughters if they decide they would like to raise their own children at home and still earn a living. The "free" has people fooled into not realizing they are losing their freedom and choices. Women have historically rented out rooms, cooked/cleaned, provided childcare and elderly care to continue to earn an income after being widowed and while raising children since the beginning of time. We (women with dependents) have never had the same opportunities in the workforce and should not have to give up time with our children to make that happen. The choice to do both needs to be protected.
