Dcm came to pick up dcb2 yesterday. She helped him put on his jacket while she and I chatted about the day. Dcb loudly said, “ZIP IT!!” Dcm looked shocked and said, “Where are you hearing that?” I said, “I think he needs help getting his zipper started, so he can zip up his jacket.” 🤣
The only social media I use is FB. I do have a Twitter account for my business but I am not that one that uses it. I really don't have the time for all of these social apps.
I joined Twitter last year but still have no idea how to really use it so I mostly just read, I don't do FB as I hate the fakeness of it all and if discussion isn't fake it's borderline judgmental and mean-girl type situations and I see enough of that in my daycare kids so yeah no FB for me. I also joined Instagram a while back but I use that for watching funny videos when I am bored and trying to fill the time when hubs and I are driving somewhere.. lol! I do use Snap Chat. A lot of my family as well as my DC families use it t to post short videos and pictures and my sister and my daughter send pictures and messages back and forth all day via Snap Chat. Other than that... I use my mobile banking app the most. haha! Technology is awesome but so confusing at the same time and I try hard not to fall into that big black hole.
I am just reading articles on twitter. I followed a lot of news, science, tech and political science journalists and professors. I have been looking things up at an alarming rate. lol!! So far, it has been really interesting. Participating looks daunting.
Facebook is where my clients are, so there I will hang out. The day I close my daycare I will delete both accounts.
Two little girls that are besties arrive at the same time this morning. Usually they arrive an hour or more apart but this morning it was at the same time.
As their parent brings them in, one little girl looks at the other and says to the other "Hi! I am Janie" The other one says "Hi! I'm Lucy"
They've been BFF's here for over a year. They play together all day every day.
Dcb 3 is not potty trained, but goes pee in toilet about 90% of the time. Comes in today and goes to pee and wash his hands when I hear ‘oh no’ from the bathroom so I go to check and he’s just saying ‘oh no oh no’ and I’m thinking ‘please no
poop on the walls!’. I walk in and he’s looking at me horrified. I ask dcb whats wrong. And he tells me with a straight face ‘I forgot it’.. I’m like forgot what? He stares and says ‘my diaper’. He went pee before leaving his house and forgot to put on a pull up or diaper or underwear 😳😂😂😂.
dcm is fabulous and having a rough week at work so I texted her and she starts laughing saying dear lord do I win worst parent award!?? So much for letting him get 100% ready independently 😂😂😂😂
You know you are old when you go out on the town with 6 ladies and you are home by 8:00 PMbut we did leave at 2:00 today Had a blast!!!! Mani and Pedi, shopping, dinner, starbucks, etc..... Now to get my errands planned for today done tomorrow as the banks closed today due to the ice we got last night.....!!! It's ALL GOOD!
Oh and I came home with shampoo, two bedskirts for my son's beds to match the comforters I had gotten them, whipping cream for my coffee, and a wire basket for daycare to go in my cozy area for small soft materials and, to top it off, a work-out gym ball to use to work off the mid-section baby-momma fat.....LOL bahahahaha!!!!
So yesterday DCG3 started talking about a brother. DCM just recently announced that her boyfriend is now dcg's step dad. So I thought maybe step dad had a son.
I Remembered to ask DCM about the brother this morning and apparently dcg doesn't have a brother but recently started telling people that she did.
DCM is worried, I reassured her that I could just be her imagination. That DD imagined to having a sister before her ds was born.
A few moments ago she asked DS4 where his brother was. Ds then says no I'm the brother and DD is the sister.
So now the kids are outside playing and the dcg is now talking about her sister that she doesn't have.
Parents are required to text when they arrive and there was construction on our street. I hear this horrible thump and our House shook (it was the truck dropping a metal plate outside) and I hear my cell say I have a text.
here was the text - Good morning! We’re here. Oh my God!!! What the f** was that? Oh sh*t, unsend text. Siri Unsend text . Siri!’
Dcm Is this timid soft spoken woman and I laughed so hard!!!
Things that you just have to giggle because otherwise you’d cry -
dcd is early 40s, dcm is late 30s, so around my age (I’m 42). Talking to them feels like talking to my teenagers where common sense isn’t always Instinctual. I don’t provide baby food (for under 18 months) and just supplement with our meals until they’re old enough to just eat regular food. I ask parents to send food. I get ONE mandarin orange.. that’s it! Then I figured maybe they misunderstood and asked for baby food pouches and snacks - they send a half box of those baby crackers and one pear. Alright time to rephrase - I need fresh fruit and things she can eat her with hands. They send one mango! 😂😂
here’s the Funniest - dck turns one this weekend: i made it clear they provide everything and have a specific list - paper plates, cake, goody bags, etc. I have decorations that we use. Today dcd shows up with 3 tiny ice cream containers (like those Ben and jerry ones that are 2-3 servings, but every person eats it as one serving!). And plates. They decided they don’t want to do cake../ no goody bags, no bowls. But paper plates and three tiny ice creams…
now when I take pictures on Monday, not sure If it’s publicly shaming them on our private page because they’ve been here for enough birthdays to know that our families go all out for them… I will go get a table cloth this weekend and put up our extra decorations, but the table will have paper plates and 3 tiny ice creams: 🤦🏻♀️
DD3 and I are home alone in the mornings. While she gets dressed upstairs, I will make her breakfast. I’ve been fighting with allergies these last few days so I’ve been coughing off and on.
I coughed and she hollered downstairs to me, “Cover your cough!!” 😂
