My dc kids are toast lovers, too! lol They'll eat through a whole loaf if I let them but will hardly touch waffles, pancakes, French toast...all the things I would think kids would prefer.
I had a parent mention yesterday they couldn’t pay tuition because the banks were closed and they are cash payers. The program I used automatically sent an email for the late fee when it wasn’t paid on time. I don’t think they were happy with me.
Rockgirl oh I know they expected me to waive it since they talked to me about it Monday… but like you, it was poor planning on their part so I didn’t waive it. I’ve learned, this sets the tone for the relationship.

Your comment reminded me of... While I was preparing to open, I took a nanny job. Mom paid me every two weeks on Monday, Every once and a while she would work late and not cash her check but pay me the next day without hesitation. It was a weird set up and she would ask me for an invoice every week on the hours I worked and the number of kids I watched. (I took care of the disabled toddler but if dad was late then I would care for the SA kids until dad got home)
Anyways the last week I worked, she put off paying me for the previous two weeks all week long, claiming that she could not get to the bank. I sent her a new invoice with late fees plus the week that I had just worked and said I would not come back until they paid me. Well, she suddenly paid me but then they fired me via email later that night for insisting on getting paid.
I listened in on a conversation 2 of my four year olds were having this morning:
C: I got hurt on the swing and my sister was laughing at me. I got a boo-boo but it was healed by God.
R: Who is God?
C: God is a president of Jesus. He's his daughter.
R: One time, I had a boo-boo on my butt and He healed it.
Have a table set up at a local show this weekend. One of the people coming through was the dad of the first infant I ever helped my mom with in her daycare. He let me know she’s 37. Dang I’m old.
Baby hasn't been here since the third. I have two pacifiers for her one for play with strap and one for nap without. I couldn't find her play one in her drawer in this morning. So I gave her her nap one. Then my DS3 is sitting by her and she has her play pacifier all of a sudden.
He hands me her nap pacifier and tells me she doesn't need. I have no idea where he found her play pacifier and he's not giving up the information.
Lol
I’ve been doing outside drop off for a couple of months. I have one DCM that will carry DCK2.5 and try to awkwardly hand the child to me while I’m trying to hold the door open, so he can walk right in.
For the first time ever, she actually sat the child down herself and let him walk in. I think I’m making progress with DCM
I hear you. They always have some lame excuse for dumping them late when they are off work. I don't give an inch on these, either. "I wanted to sleep in on my day off" has consequences. Poor kid is already excited thinking they have a day with mommy/daddy by then.
No; someone was with her that could pick up and he came across the yard to get dcb. The daycare boy took off like a bullet toward their vehicle and I had to grab him and put his hand in the hand of the pick-upper.... I don't know how these kids survive sometimes.
I am closed Dec. 23-Jan 4....that is two weeks in the middle of a three-week span. Dcm asked today 'how much those three weeks would be since I was closed most of it'.....I replied with "xxx for this week, xxx for the next week, and xxx for the next week"...she replied with " OHHHH, OK, I didn't think that's what you meant in the newsletter". I meant you would pay me just like always....remember I'm that daycare the community calls 'adamant about her contract'
I got a blood blister on my hand. DS saw it, tried to remove it, then after I said ow, he kissed it to make it better and then gave me advice on how to make it better. He says "Mommy put some milk on it and wash it off" -- I tried, accidentally, but it did not work.
