DCG was on the see-saw and DS wanted to join her. She decides to get off and says "I want to be alone." DS says "Can we be alone together?" She walks away and he follows asking her again. At pick up, she says, "I was mad at DS"

I decided to try a clothing subscription for fun and to try something new. It asked a little about me. I told them I was 50, a daycare provider, and preferred modest tops without embellishments that could scratch infants. I also clicked no leggings or animal prints.

They sent me Fran Drescher's, as The Nanny, nursing home pajamas.

    - Four pairs of leggings, one chenille, I kid you not. You can start a fire in those things. All skin tight. Two with cuffed ankles, all with drawstring waists.
    - Three long-sleeved, pocketed paper thin, stretchy dorm shirts. One is cheetah print. One is burple.
    - One cute sleeveless top, but with scratchy black lace at the neckline.
    - Massive hoops with a polished stone hanging from them and a ribbon tassel bracelet with silver sparkles.

    I feel attacked, but

Ds woke up early this morning, he comes out of his room crying. I ask what is wrong and he asked where is Dcg. I tell him not here yet and he cries more and say that he needs a hug from Dcg because he hit his head. I ask if I can give h one instead.

I have a DCK 'A' ...new 3. (I have suspicions that child may be autistic but hasn't been tested yet.)
Every other Friday, we have "movie time". It was DCK 'A''s turn to pick the movie.
I said "Go to the bathroom 'A' so you can pick the movie and we can get it started!"
DCK 'A' replies "Oh yay! I wonder what it's going to be"

I have a just turned 1 dck that sleeps in a pack n play. During nap time, I was cleaning toys and I guess making too much noise because she stands up, looks at me and babbles. I respond ‘no, it’s not over yet’. She babbles back, plops back down and goes back to sleeping!!! 😂😂😂😂

It was very scary at the time! I didn't explain it well because I was trying to finish my reply before the kids woke up from their naps but yeah...I couldn't believe how hard she fought me and how determined she was to smash her forehead! I'm so glad your dcg was much more reasonable than mine! It's amazing what some kids will do for a Band-Aid - or an ice pack! lol

e.j. oh my goodness! That is terrifying! thankfully when I told her to be careful she stopped. I told her if she got hurt she would have to sit out and stop playing for a while and then suddenly getting a bandaid didn’t sound so fun 😂

I once had a dcg who tripped and as she lost her balance, she banged her forehead into the corner of my kitchen countertop. When another dcg saw me give DCG1 an ice pack to apply to her head, she demanded an ice pack for herself. When I explained that she didn't need one, DCG2 attempted to bang her own forehead into the corner of my countertop - and had this really weird smile on her face the whole time she was trying to do it. I was able to stop her in time but had to physically struggle to keep her from hurting herself! I would have given her an ice pack just to stop her but I only had 2 packs and I was afraid I might need the other one for the dcg who had truly hurt herself. DCG2 had been a behavioral issue for a while before that day and I had been trying to work up the nerve to give notice. Dcm got their notice that afternoon.

I would be annoyed to if all the kids needed a bandaid just because one got one. However I have the opposite crew, the child with the owie will tell me that they don't have any blood so I won't bandage it.

Playing outside this morning and DCG1.5 tripped on the pavement and scraped her knee. It was bleeding a little so I cleaned it up and got her a bandaid, of course then everyone wanted a bandaid, I explained that they didn’t need one and everyone went back to playing EXCEPT DCG2.5. She proceeded to go to the exact spot that DCG1.5 tripped and throw herself on the ground. When I didn’t react she did it two more times. I asked “are you okay?” She said - in the most dramatic voice - “oh no! I need a bandaid! Boo boo! Owie!” 🤣 I was like oh my goodness 🤦‍♀️ I told her she didn’t have a boo boo so she didn’t need a bandaid. She spent the rest of the time that we were outside throwing herself around, “falling” and “tripping”, to try to get a boo boo that was sufficient enough for a bandaid. I told DCM that she wins as the most dramatic kid I have ever met. 😂

I used to run into daycare families all the time....oddly, it was always the ones I did not want to stop and chat with lol! Lately however, my hubby just made a comment the other day that we never see daycare families out and about anymore. Either we shop in totally different places or my suspicions are correct and daycare parents do all their shopping while their kids are in care with me. Either way, Im glad I don't see them.... I see them enough M-F as it is.

I saw a kid out one weekend and he came up to hug me. The kid is aging out in a few weeks so the parent asked me the following week if I was sad that DCK is leaving and I may never see DCK again. Before I could catch myself I replied “No, because we live in a small enough town that I always see my DCKs” 😂 Then I realized how rude that sounded and quickly said “Just like I saw you guys this past weekend! I know I’ll see you again. But yep, I’ll miss DCK!” 😅🤣

I just can't get away from work

Took my kids to the pool over the weekend, saw 2 of my dck there. Got ice cream afterwards, and saw 2 more dck at the ice cream shop - the perks of a small town lol I love all my dck and they usually are happy to see me in public, but it made me think of Phil in The Hangover when he leaves the school for Vegas and one of his students is trying to talk to him - "It's the weekend. I do not know you. You do not exist."
