I would be annoyed to if all the kids needed a bandaid just because one got one. However I have the opposite crew, the child with the owie will tell me that they don't have any blood so I won't bandage it.

Playing outside this morning and DCG1.5 tripped on the pavement and scraped her knee. It was bleeding a little so I cleaned it up and got her a bandaid, of course then everyone wanted a bandaid, I explained that they didn’t need one and everyone went back to playing EXCEPT DCG2.5. She proceeded to go to the exact spot that DCG1.5 tripped and throw herself on the ground. When I didn’t react she did it two more times. I asked “are you okay?” She said - in the most dramatic voice - “oh no! I need a bandaid! Boo boo! Owie!” 🤣 I was like oh my goodness 🤦‍♀️ I told her she didn’t have a boo boo so she didn’t need a bandaid. She spent the rest of the time that we were outside throwing herself around, “falling” and “tripping”, to try to get a boo boo that was sufficient enough for a bandaid. I told DCM that she wins as the most dramatic kid I have ever met. 😂

I used to run into daycare families all the time....oddly, it was always the ones I did not want to stop and chat with lol! Lately however, my hubby just made a comment the other day that we never see daycare families out and about anymore. Either we shop in totally different places or my suspicions are correct and daycare parents do all their shopping while their kids are in care with me. Either way, Im glad I don't see them.... I see them enough M-F as it is.

I saw a kid out one weekend and he came up to hug me. The kid is aging out in a few weeks so the parent asked me the following week if I was sad that DCK is leaving and I may never see DCK again. Before I could catch myself I replied “No, because we live in a small enough town that I always see my DCKs” 😂 Then I realized how rude that sounded and quickly said “Just like I saw you guys this past weekend! I know I’ll see you again. But yep, I’ll miss DCK!” 😅🤣

I just can't get away from work

Took my kids to the pool over the weekend, saw 2 of my dck there. Got ice cream afterwards, and saw 2 more dck at the ice cream shop - the perks of a small town lol I love all my dck and they usually are happy to see me in public, but it made me think of Phil in The Hangover when he leaves the school for Vegas and one of his students is trying to talk to him - "It's the weekend. I do not know you. You do not exist."

Got all 3 toddlers in their pnp and cots for nap. Then I smelled it and said “who pooped?”
All three of them, in unison: “I poop! I poop!”
I start checking them and get to the last one and she just starts laughing before I even check her. She just starts saying “I poop. I poop!” And laughing like it’s the funniest joke ever. I had JUST changed them before laying them down 😐 LOL at least they all went straight to sleep after

I have been collecting TP rolls and letting the kids play with them. DCG is the last one here and during her last ten minutes, she got out two TP rolls and played with them. I was cleaning up in the kitchen when DCM arrived. I called DCG and she came out with TP rolls as hands. LOL, She says Ms. X I can't get them off.

We did a field trip to the zoo a few weeks ago and my Neely 2 year old dcb kept saying ‘ohhh an elephant’ when he saw the lions. I’d say ‘that’s a lion, dcb’ and he’d reply ‘oh, a lion’. This happened about 3x. Then when we asked the dcb whar was his fevorite part of the zoo, he says ‘the elephants’. We didn’t see any elephants 😂.
so today I handed out the monthly newsletters and put a thank you to all the families for helping with the field trip and that we loved seeing all the animals especially the elephants. One of my dcm was a chaperone and she texts if I’m okay, and I say yea why… so she texts back cause I want to know what was in your water bottle during the field trip cause we didn’t see any elephants! 😂😂😂 I meant to type lions, and was giggling about dcb mixing up lions and elephants that I mixed it up!

DCG5 to DCB5: I do not appreciate your behavior! Please stop spitting, it is disgusting.

This was said in her teacher voice. 😂

Rockgirl My sister would ask me questions like that. "How do your families feel about you not working Fridays?" I have no idea, never asked them.--- I mean It was clear to them from the start that I was not open on Fridays, it is not like I sprung it on them suddenly.

My mom used to always ask me before my vacation days, “Were all the parents able to find somewhere for their kids to go while you’re off?” My answer was always, “I hope so, but I never ask.”

lol, I write my closure as separate dates so it doesn't look like I take a lot of time off. I do not want to be known as the daycare that is always closed.

I'm closed July 1-5. Isn't it funny how families are a little "oh what will I do" without realizing it's simply a Friday, Monday and Tuesday. I'm NOT doing the figuring-out for them! They think it's a whole daycare week.
