Just passed my annual inspection and no violations. I can breathe a sigh of relief now that its over and no worries until next year. She was new, only six months on the job and by the book. She had me stressing for a moment saying I needed a Dr. signature on the immunization forms. I told her that's the first time I've been told that, been doing this 8 years. So, she checked and then said as long as I had them on the health assessment forms then I'm good, which I did. So, glad it's over and can now look forward to my two week vacation starting next week!

Good for you!! I added a new policy for 2023 as well and am now following the school calendar. So when school is late, closed or not in session for any reason I will take the same stance. I don't have SA kids but I like the schedule they keep lol! I will still be open as normal in the summer months however.

Blackcat31 that’s a good idea! I close if the school closes or if we’re on a travel advisory. Lately, we haven’t gotten any snow until February/March.

It’s been a really tough Year emotionally, physically, financially, etc. I finished school and earned my degree but financially it hurt, then one family leaving unexpectedly and another having to term has been so rough. I kept telling myself that not all Money is good money but was starting to get discouraged because so many bills! I had a small refund from my school
that hadn’t been settled yet and I decided to email them. They emailed back that they are reviewing my account and should finish by early next week AND that I should get almost double back because I had the scholarship that I won that wasn’t applied. I am waiting for it to be deposited, but If it’s the amount I think it is, it pays off a bill I have been dreading (1 kid in braces, 1 with a retainer that was lost and we couldn’t afford to replace) … praying and grateful i wasn’t expecting the small amount this year and now it’s going to be double woo hoo

We will be getting a whole house generator soon. The generator itself finally arrived just after Christmas and we have a installation day of January 13th.Last edited by Alwaysgreener; 01-04-2023, 10:53 AM.Good Bye

You know I am so on the fence on that. Sometimes I pray for the power to go out this is so that I can close with a good reason. I do not plan on telling them, and I had the electrician place the generator behind the fence so it would be hidden from everyone.
But then I had someone point out that it might be a good selling point saying that I wouldn't close for power outages.
I do you know I will be writing it off on my taxes. I paid half in 2022 and half in 2023.Last edited by Alwaysgreener; 01-04-2023, 12:00 PM.

I’ve been having a tough time lately and really trying to focus on the positive things. Well I have a great one - 13 month old started on tu easy and for right into the group! AND the parents asked if they can pay Me on Thursday for the next week instead of waiting until Monday (payment is due Mondays) . Yay!!!

Transitioned my 17 month old to a nap mat instead of PNP on Monday of this week. Child has slept like an angel. Longer naps, less disruption and appears the child LOVES being a big kid!

Wow! I'm a little jealous of those of you who can get a kid under 2 to stay on their nap mats or cots. I've only had one kid successfully make the transition before she turned 2. I've tried it with a few kids since and they just kept getting up and disrupting everyone else. The last kid I tried it with would put her arms around the bottom of the cot and pull up so hard it would make the cot jump and had great fun "jumping" the cot across the floor. I don't even try a cot until they turn 2 now and even then, I usually wait until they indicate they want to sleep on a cot instead of in the pnp.

My little dcb doesn’t always settle immediately. I’ve been sitting beside him with my hand resting on his back. I’ve gradually shortened the time doing that, and today it only took about 3 minutes for him to settle. He also uses a 3 lb. blanket. That really seems to help.
