My six week appt for my broken ankle and completely released....said technically I had two more weeks and another appt but he would leave that for 'as needed' so I'm good to go....

With the rise of the DELTA variant and everything up in LIMBO again at corporate, my DH canceled our Sept trip completely.

He then took those funds and ordered us a hot tub and two treadmills, instead. Those will be a really nice addition to our new home gym we just finished out from a former 4 car garage/barn. Winter and Fall is going to be fun this year. Keep moving, use it or lose it, they say.

We were just released from our tornado warning, it moved a couple minutes east. The kids did great. Not a single tear or a seconds hesitation in getting to shelter and under the mats. We won't return to the playroom today due to the large windows and debris, but the worst risk is behind us for a bit. Lunch will be early, just in case.

Had several tons of pea gravel delivered many weeks ago; I allowed the kids to help spread it with their trucks, buckets, etc.; but after breaking my ankle a few weeks ago, there was so much to do with this gravel spreading and good ole' cleanup on my playground....my son and his friend and my brother and even myself spent several hours working this afternoon; not only did it fix my playground, it made ME feel better.....it was HOT but it was some stress relief too with some physical labor!

My state recently passed a family relief act that will provide monthly payments to child care providers THROUGH June of 2023!!
It's not alot but it will definitely help with the added costs of extra sanitizing and disinfecting as well as the extra hours I spend adapting my program to our new reality.

Today is my Friday! My mother owns the center that I direct, we haven't been on a family vacation since my little sister was born almost 9 years ago because we would have to close. Well we finally bit the bullet and closed so we can take some much needed family time!! Off to Nashville tomorrow and my little sister is excited for her first ever real vacation (besides a weekend trip to Minneapolis when she was 18 month old) and her first time on an airplane! I'm so excited! (Yes, my sister and I have a 17 year age gap, I'm closer in age to my mother than to my sister! )

It is getting closer! Already looking forward to my two day work-week next week. Then off till Labor Day I So need the break!

I started the preschool program back up yesterday. So far it is going great, the kids are actively engaged and are excited about the activities throughout the day. So. Much. Laughter.

It really is amazing how much just moving one kid out of the group can make. I knew DCG was an energy drain, but I never fully realized just how much she effected the entire group. That is even after adding three infants into the mix. Just a night and day difference, these kids are exploding with personality and new skills, now. (I was so relieved to have her passive-aggressive, oppositional, mother gone, that I minimized it.)

I always found it easy to terminate "violent without provocation kids" but now I will pay closer attention to the negativity of Gatekeeper/Manipulator/Debbie Downer kids, too. Happily, I have not had anyone quite like them, before.
