  • Today is my Friday! CH, this is when I come into your neck of the woods....Looks like it's going be rainy. But I'm looking forward to just sitting on the porch of the cabin. My bro made the reservations for 16-20 in this cabin ( I hope it's not on a hillside-ledge this time) so I plan to mind my own business and continue my path of 'enjoying me-time'....not selfish just at a different point in my life....coffee and the porch sounds lovely!!!! I primarily go to drive my mom out there....we like having our own car as well!

That sounds wonderful!! Have fun! We are road tripping this weekend, too. Work stuff, but still my first trip to Nashville.

I live about 60 miles south of Nashville so you are in my neck of The woods. Lots of road construction up there.

  • Five more working days.....I've always closed on Wednesday before Labor Day.......we have some family/church friends come in during this time but I also use this time as a 'get ready for a new preschool year' as I begin that on the Tuesday I open back up. Moving SLOWER and SLOWER each year Coming to grips with my limitations and accepting them, I assume, is progress...... I have registered for some in-person conferences and am a LITTLE excited about this....just need that connection...if they take place, that is, so much is not following through and they can reach so many more persons through online resources. LET"S get through this TODAY! Hope all have a wonderful WEDNEDSAY!

I’m ready for a refresh, too! We’re heading to Colorado this weekend, and I’ll be closed Mon-Tues. We have a concert Monday night at Red Rocks amphitheater, which is our favorite venue. Just hanging out in a few other Colorado towns over the weekend.

I've been to Colorado; up on the Mesa, Denver, Holyoke, etc. We took trips out west when I was a kid.......I remember wallking in the snow but it wasn't as cold as it is here when it snows.....felt odd as we didn't even have coats on but was in the snow.

  • They figured out what’s going on with my hip and leg. It’s actually my back. L5 lower lumbar bone is slipped forward and pressing on my nerve! I saw it on X-ray. I have an MRI in 2 weeks and see a spinal doctor a week later. I got a steroid pack which really helped the muscles in my hip that have been inflamed I think from over use since the pinched nerve was causing me so much pain. The nerve pain is still here though. But still slightly less pain. I think the MRI will be able to tell them why it is slipped forward. I am happy I have more of an answer. First doctor I went to just focused on my hip even though I told him I was having nerve pain too. So I didn’t get anywhere with him.

Mine got worse after my second pregnancy too. It’s pressing on my nerve now and won’t go away. It can damage the nerve permanently too. Otherwise taking collagen has always helped my lower back pain. I’ll let you know what my spinal doctor says since you have the same condition. I do know with Spondylolisthesis you need to be very careful with any exercises. No high impact. Lmbo. That was what I always did. But seriously be careful bending down and twisting back exercises. And Pilates and laying flat and lifting legs up unless your abdominals are really strong.

I didn’t know that about the HIIT workouts. I do a mix in the workout program I follow and some days, the workout is HIIT.

That’s what I’ve read. Watch for twisting of the spine motions and bending down motions and leg lifts. But if you’ve been doing them and you’re fine then I wouldn’t worry about it. I definitely can’t do them. It aggravates my nerve more right now.

  • Got DCG2.5 to potty in the potty two times this morning! Still had a wet diaper before lunch but she’s at least going and trying to go when I ask. PROGRESS!

Licensing consultant just came and I passed everything so now I am good for another 6-9 months! Woohoo! I always get so anxious when he comes even though I’ve never had issues 🤣

    • I had a dcf that left March 2021 (right after they had Covid and didn’t tell us and I almost lost my DH). It wasn’t a good goodbye. They wanted to leave the younger kid until he was old enough to go to the new daycare (3 months). I said no, they weren’t happy and left very angry since I refused the honor of watching dcb for 3 more months (their words).

I ran into grandpa last week. Grandpa is watching dcb some days because he was kicked out of daycare (behavioral). Grandpa saw me at the park today and walked over w dcb to say hi… and omg. All i could think was wow… kid was out of control. Like throwing sand trying to hit grandpa out of control. All
j Could think was dodged a bullet!

      • Happy Friday! All three of my under 16 months are not here today! DCB6mo and DCB14mo are only M-Th and DH got a surprise day off today so he took DS11mo out to visit his grandparents. Now the youngest I have is 22mo. It’s kind of strange but also kind of nice. Everyone is on the same schedule so it feels a little more laid back. Hopefully it goes by quickly because I have a 3 day weekend!

Funny how some days end up being a surprise great day!

I have 2 DCG (age 3) that drive me insane most days and for some odd reason they will BOTH be absent next week for 4 days. That kind of luck never happens to me! lol!
The most annoying kids are usually the ones that are never absent so this news was a very pleasant surprise! I am not sooo looking forward to next week! haha!

What are the odds they'd both be out at the same time? Maybe you should buy a lottery ticket on your way home today?! lol

        • I fought a citation and today I got an email stating that my consultant is willing to remove it. It does not say that they agree with me or that he was wrong, just that he will remove it. I am still waiting for the revised report. But at least I have it in writing that he will remove it.

MissCait yeah, that’s the story of my daycare life 😂

          • Well, my sons and I had slowed down on the clean-up, fix-up for a few months but have picked back up again; new-er furniture and one bathroom sink leak fixed; planning to cut some trees this fall per some FREE family help......still waiting on some things due to people being backed-up with no staff but moving forward after a small stand-still; the spring was definitely prosperous for us with work around the house but slowed up a bit through the summer....thankful for my sons, in particular, and my bros for having the equipment that makes things so much easier!

            • I usually dread Mondays and Tuesdays because I have my screamer. He screamed for a short time this morning after mom left, and then was so much better. I was actually able to talk to other parents!

Plus, I have a sibling set gone today (unfortunately the older one is sick), but it's so nice having a break from a young infant. After having one 9.5 hours a day, every day, a break is nice!

It's fall break here so I'm short today, too! Plus I have two short weeks this month.... love it when a plan comes together! LOL

            • DCD of SA dcb gave DCB what for when he moved away from me again when I tried to take his temp. DCB does this all the time, he will turn his head and take off his stuff instead of letting me temp him. DCG always waits for me to temp her. DCD told him that we do things in a certain order because that is the order that works best. I just stood there, thinking I told you so, it is the exact thing that I tell him every week.

              • It's been a rough week here.... LOTS of snot, coughs and kids out sick. I'm over cranky babies that won't sleep and big ones that "can't" do anything by themselves even though they've done so all summer (take shoes on/off, close doors, pick up toys etc) and don't even get me started on the blank stares I've been getting from parents that don't understand why I sent their puking, coughing SICK kid home from care.....

Anyways, a grandma of one of my favorite DCK's dropped DCK off this morning. We shared some morning chit chat as usual, (nothing was mentioned about the stressful week) but I'm thinking grandma must have sensed it as she had provided care for DCk these last few days when DCK was sick.....Grandma leaves and returns 20 minutes later..... I am thinking she forgot something but nope, she came back and brought me a bouquet of fall colored flowers! Said she thought I was a saint! Definitely brightened my day!!

What a thoughtful thing for her to do!

Two parents told me yesterday, "I give you so much credit. I don't know how you do it!" Just those words and knowing some parents "get" it can make me feel better about my job.

Nice! Doesn't it feel like a weight off your shoulders once it's done and you know it'll be a while until the next visit? Just had my unannounced visit the day before yesterday. It was the first time I met my licensor in person. I have a couple of new kids who haven't quite adjusted yet. One cried the entire time she was here! Not stressful at all! lol

              • I have enrolled dcb3; another interview with family of dcg1 Thursday.....filling back up I hope!

Alot of times, it's just me, I just don't want to interview anyone; I know I will still have to TELL so why interview
