Do any of you do a lesson plan? I usually just do it on the fly during my morning tea. I'm wondering the best way to organize my days. I usually cut out quick what we need for crafts and learning for the day. I'm trying to get more organized. Any suggestions would be helpful.

I do weekly lesson plans based on themes children enjoy. I try to stay a couple of weeks ahead of the game but I am not always successful. What I do is choose a theme ( lets say bears) and then start choosing my activities. I work in a large center where we have to have art, books and literacy, STEM, and both gross and fine motor skills. I also try to include music and social skills. If you can’t have every activity relate to your weekly theme that’s okay. As long as you can think of a few that’s ok. For example on bears week we had everyone bring a toy bear from home and they talked about their bear during circle time. We also read books about bears and for art did bear paw prints. When I taught Pre-K we were required by the state Minimum Standards to have a variety of weekly activities. So what I did was broke things by the month, then week, then day.
Now that I am a nanny, I do the same thing BUT I broke down and bought a teacher lesson plan book and plan on doing it that way. I am way to OCD now as I have gotten older to do it any other way lolComment

The reason why I ask is because I'm interested in becoming a YoungStar provider and you have to be compatible or in line with Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards (WMELS) or School-Age Curricular Framework (SACF).
I have no idea where to start or what to do.Comment

HEY!!! Wi here too. So I work at a young star 3 star center. We do weekly lesson plans. I write all the ones for our room, in fact I am currently writing mine for the next year. I plan to do May week 1, May week 2 Ect and make them something i can use for years to come. If you wanna see what ours look like, Let me know and ill post a pic. I teach 1 year olds, but the lesson plan is pretty much the same throught the center (Except preschool (3-6) they have group, social emotional, sensory added on)Originally posted by TwinMama View PostComment

So I have walking ones to 2. I have a full range of abilities in my room from fully verbal to dont talk, dont play. I work in a center with a wonderful co teacher. I leave my art intentionally vauge to give her lots of options of what she wants to do (she loves art so I let her have at it). Most of my songs are from youtube. I find the kids react well to "dance bvideos" I have also found out that sesame street pretty much has a song for everything. I know your question wasnt so much this but we love Freeze dance, Hokey pokey, sesame street counting to 4, herman the worm. Those are pretty much our get up and dance songs. sorry for the very long wordy post

I have children’s ages 22 months to 3 years old.
Here is what my schedule looks like through the week. I do try to have a theme, which can be anything really. By Friday, my brain is in weekend mode so I don’t do anything on Friday’s besides Circle Time. I have station set up for them to draw or color.
Monday - Sensory Play
Tuesday - Shapes/Colors
Wednesday - Arts & Crafts
Thursday - Letters/Numbers
Friday - FREE DAY!
Schedule
7:00 - Breakfast is served until 9 - FREE PLAY
9:30 - Clean up
9:45 - Lesson Plan (Except Friday)
10:45 - Circle Time with the weather & calendar
11:00 - Music
11:30 - Lunch is served
12:00-2:30 - NAP TIME
3:00 - Snack is served
3:15 - FREE PLAY
4:30 - Clean up & Music
This summer, I’ll likely run it the same as my Friday schedule & keep us outside as much as possible. On rainy days, we’ll do some sensory play.Comment

215-245 Diaper check (cause mine never seem to pee during nap) and getting ready for outside
245-6 Outside or free play inside, diapers as needed
