I would not want to police that. It is wasted energy since her child would be the most at risk. I would just ask for an immunization form (updated shot record), like every school will require of them. The doctor will know what to put on it. All that matters to us is the expiration date up top, once that is expired it means they are not under a doctors care and supervision at that time. That is what matters, not the timing of the shots.

Cat Herder I’m glad I didn’t tell her I wasn’t comfortable with it. Can I require a doctors note with a plan to get her caught up since the woman disclosed the info to me voluntarily?

Neither do you. It is covered by the ADA. You can't ask, they don't have to tell.

We are supposed to be using universal precautions at all times, therefore they are legally exempt from disclosure. That is one of the reasons my illness policy is so strict. It has always existed as long as I have been in this field. They just don't talk about it as much since the late 80's/early 90's.

I am a parent and I know I should know this… but are kids “fully” vaccinated by 2YO? I am pretty sure our pediatrician said DD2.5 was caught up until Kindergarten but I can’t remember.

I am just trying to figure out the risks if I accept the child. I have two DCK under 2YO now that obviously aren't fully vaccinated. I wouldn’t want to put them at risk for anything by bringing in a child that is behind on vaccines.

I believe it is age 4 they get their last one before K but some don't get it until 5 or 6. Then my daughter isn't supposed to get one until she's 11.

I cannot enroll a child without a current immunization form per state law. They cannot stay enrolled if it expires.

That does not mean their pediatrician can't sign and date the form with or without immunizations. I am only required to have the form. The rest of it is between the parents and the doctor.

We can't even ask if a child has full blown AIDS, so all of this vaccination drama is asinine.

The only risk is to the unvaccinated child. And those not fully vaccinated yet.
Vaccinated kids are protected by their vaccines

Personally, I don’t accept kids without or behind on vaccines.

We enrolled a child once that never had any vaccines whatsoever and our childcare licensing consultant said to go to our local health department in our county and get a certificate stating that the child was unvaccinated and that the parents were aware. We made a copy of it and put it in the child's file & that qualified for a vaccination notification for state

I have a potential client I am excited to meet with. She said her child had a bad reactions to the vaccines when she was an infant so she is slowly getting caught up with the vaccines now at almost 2YO.

Is there any risk with enrolling a child not vaccinated with my other kiddos fully vaccinated?

I am thinking about requiring a doctors note with a plan (stating she isn’t fully vaccinated because she had a bad reaction) and if I decide to enroll, I would require this child to be vaccinated on a Friday so I wouldn’t have to deal with any reactions that may pop up.
