From what I am seeing and hearing here is Los Angeles, California people are not happy with inflation, gas prices ($7), crime, homeless encampments and just an overwhelming sense of fear, despair, hopelessness and unhappiness for most that are struggling. I hear people complain every day. It consumes their lives.

Out 64 east....about 1.5 hours away... My bro used to live in Chattanooga and we went the back way on Hwy 64 over through that way....We hit I-24 in Winchester! ....He and his kids have since moved back home, though. It's a small world!

Annalee I had a client (FixturWorld) I worked with in Cookeville, TN at my previous corporate job. The gentleman that I worked with was so kind!

I love TN, it’s very beautiful!

I am in Georgia and the stupid boiling over from Atlanta politics is overwhelming.

The people just want stable employment with hours, pay and benefits conducive to raising a family. Access to healthcare is a huge issue, too. Most have some form of insurance or subsidy, but the doctors are leaving the state because they too want a life conducive to raising a family. The reimbursement rates are insulting and unpaid accounts are the overwhelming majority. Everyone wants free care without working for it... but also are obese, drink like a fish, use street drugs and only walk if chased by a bear.

Affordable Housing... Whats that? Most everything has been bought out, flipped and are owned out of state or country. Tenants have to pay via money order and isn't that just creepy and sad? We didn't have to lose a war, we just listed a for sale ad, instead.

As usual, the majority wealthy people here are politicians and entertainers. That is disheartening. Now entertainers are the candidates, so the desire to vote is gone, they don't eve hide the ridiculousness of media manipulation of the uneducated or easily led. Then again, one cannot become a politician without first being wealthy, that is how they keep this circle going, right? I usually need a shower after voting.

In conclusion, I'm not feeling too great for the next cycle, either.

Michael I’m sorry your family treats you that way over politics. I’m 31, but I remember the days when people could have different opinions and remain friends/family. It’s truly sad how divided this country has become.

Disclaimer: I've lived my whole life in the rural bible belt. Appalachian, for those reading later. I got my first computer at 30. My viewpoints come from that.

If you are into world history and predictions, we will see our fall by 2030. Personally, I think we are too stubborn and oppositional to prove them right, so maybe we will hang on a bit longer, in a different way? Without a common enemy to focus on, we focus on each other. Basic gorilla herd/mob mentality stuff? I am concerned we will see some wag the dog scenario in 5...4...3...2

Sadly, I believe "family" *as we knew it* is already over, with some grasping to *still living* elders to hold their lines for now. Same with organized religion. It is really hard to separate organized religion from money laundering, abuse, political division, segregation, cloaking and manipulation. Global information at our fingertips took its original power, outside of our own heads and hearts. Community is also virtual, now, sometimes for the better.

The internet was a twist I can't fully comprehend the impact of on family and culture, but it seems to have made them optional. I see it in my kid's generation every day (their friends, my friends' kids, my clients). It isn't all "bad" though because they don't seem to be as vulnerable to multigenerational abuse, they can just check out and ghost. It gave me the desire to travel and that gave me a different view of how we live and what our actual goals may be.

Maybe the fall that is predicted can be a shifting of the "American Dream" because the world that birthed that ideation that no longer exists?

...and now Herschal Walker is in town. Population of 3600. Make this end... please. We have 16 full time police officers, folks. 16. We don't have the staff to deal with our subdivisions much less this BS. Stop using us as your fodder and the butt of all your jokes. AGHHH We are the products of your public educational system.

I’m going to keep this poll up until the 8th. I hope we get more votes. It’s seems a bit lopsided at the moment.

Here in California we basically vote by mail. We no longer use ballot voting machines. I voted a week ago.

I prefer paper ballot or machine ballot the day of election. One day and get it done and counted.

Our poll did not reflect the outcome. The norms of tradition are just the opposite.

As bad as the economy is, with inflation and pain at the pump and costly groceries, the midterms traditionally go with the opposing party. While our poll made sense, the outcome was completely the opposite.

It’s hard to predict the future in the present. America definitely is polarized with two opposing sides that believe they must preserve their logic. It’s a matter of survival. America seems divorced from reality. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out in the next two years.

Florida’s election seemed logical but many of those that made it a solid red state moved from their previous blue states to achieve those results and goals in a Republican state. We are very much a divided states of America IMO. The left is confused by the Florida election as much as the right is confused by Pennsylvania. Hopefully we are not headed for chaos.

One thing the poll seems to have accurately reflected was the lack of voter participation locally. 60% of registered voters voted, here.

The traditional trend would have been a huge win for the opposing party. That did not happen. It looks to me as though it will be a Republican House and Senate by a very small margin. I think the Senate will be 51/49 and the House 222/214, but that remains to been seen. Currently, neither party has 2023 control of either chamber of Congress.
